Canal Union between Falkirk and Edinburgh was finished in 1822.
Because of geographical difficulties, which created a difference of 79ft.in elevation, the two canals were connected by 11 locks.
In 1963, after 150 yrs of existence of this water way with 11 locks the construction of a huge water carousel started. This extraordinary idea was finished in 2002 and became a symbol of Scotland. This invention saves not only time but also energy.

Corn Nugget, this is a jewel of engineeing.. It is the Falkirk Wheel in the UK. It is a boat lift that perfecly balances the two "cups" that hold the boats...

I know it's not at the library. It's not at The Tidewater Inn. They used to have great "John Moll" and they got rid of them. That's another sad situation.
WalMart/McDonalds has some wall painting, but I don't think it from there.
Hmmh? Have to search a little more.

Not Mike (does kinda look like Mike).... Not "Last Chance".... It's part of a wall painting/mural in the lobby of a Talbot Co. public facility.
I was screwing around trying to add an avatar (sp), all I got was a red "wetfoot". I have no idea how that happened, other than vodka, maybe..... Oh well, I'll figure out how to go black again and add the avatar. In mean time, excuse the red.......

Ouch.... Where? the marina??? The previous owner would probably still have the place/the business if he had that attraction.... or maybe not....
Perhaps the barge should have a permenant home in one of the water buckets / ferris wheel locks (?).....

I've seen one of these in Canada. It's actually a boat "lift." Not sure where this one is but by the looks of the boat which is a typical European canal boat, I would guess England or France.
