Just got a pm that questioned the picture.  There is a dump truck on either side of the ferry (Oxford-Bellevue) dumping oyster shells as it moves along. This was the state of the art oyster seeding program back in the day.

I'll even guess that it is the Tread Avon River, on the Oxford side, between the Robert Morris Inn, and the Yacht Club???

If you traveled on Rt. 16 west of Wal-Mart towards Taylors Island, you could not have missed this view, VERY visible, from road this past summer.
