4 hounds is correct. Shot taken with zoom lense out of pickup window. The critter was chasing a pheasant.

| I guess taylors island would be a better habitat and food source closer to humans i. e. trash pets and what rodents they can catch. they could present a real problem in the future

| Yes Farmer. Appears that I have spent a lot of time on Elliotts. This is going toward Lower Creek (that's what the islanders call it) toward the county boat ramp.

| It could be Castle Haven. It could be just about anywhere in Dorchester. That's why I posted it, to confuse Good Guess Gordy. Hint: It is located in an area that describes itself as an island.

Could it be in the area of Castle Haven? I remember someone who lived in that area and talked about the osprey and the nest.

| White Dove is wrong. Gordy, the game is for Dorchester County and surrounding Marsh & Water only. Keep trying. Ospreys took back their nest this year.

| grandma, how did I know you would get this one RIGHT!!! Yes, It is called Fishing Point which looks out over Fishing Bay. There used to be a steam boat pier when our grandparents were young and Cap'n Spry (Levi Spry Gray) had a piano shipped on a train from Chicago to Baltimore, then loaded on a steam boat bound for Elliotts where our great grandfather picked up and sailed to Gray's island so our Great Aunt Eva could celebrate her 16th birthday in style. He also had a piano teacher stay with them while teaching all five girls how to play. Later, the crab picking house was located here where my grandmother picked crabs and shucked oysters for 5 cents a pound! Glad those days are behind us :-)

| I feel stupid. In the picture of the beacon I said it couldn't be looking from Hambrooks to Talbot cause you'd see the Malkus bridge to the right. Well, I guess what you would not see is the sun setting in the northeast. You guys should have set me straight on that blooper!! So far as the picture of the torn up road, my first guess was High Street. Last edited on Mon Oct 16th, 2006 04:54 pm by Farmer

The right side of the photo is a man-made dike or ditch bank.
Is this Black Water National Wildlife Refuge?

- Palmers Mill Road - oops.... in my own struggles in Galestown never did get up that far. The damage is almost identical to Newhart Mill - missed a few things-that sweeping curve, should have looked closerLast edited on Sun Oct 15th, 2006 02:14 pm by Grizzabella

Newharts Mill Road
All three dams in North Dorchester were wiped out. The only one that has been partially repaired so that it is passable.

| Good name dontknow, you "dontknow" this answer though. I did not get a chance to see Cokesbury after the flood and the road is still closed. Most or all of the dams in North Dorchester were wiped out and many were privately owned. Landowners requested the County Councilmen for funds to help pay for repair. Effie Elzey turned them down flat. Seems to me without adequate structure of these dams, the roads will not remain once they are repaired. Guess their saving our tax dollars to bail out The Public Safety Bldg. Hint: The road that got wiped out in the picture is a beautiful ride in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. Shame that a big portion of it is closed and will stay closed for sometime causing a lot of inconvience for travelers that used it regularly.
