A magician was boasting one day at how long he could hold his breath under water. His record was 6 minutes. A kid that was listening said, "That's nothing, I can stay under water for 10 minutes using no types of equipment or air pockets!" The magician told the kid if he could do that, he'd give him $10,000. The kid did it and won the money. Can you figure out how?

I'm not sure exactly, but it looks to me like they have multiple uses in the English language.

Some are used as nouns and adjectives.  Some are used as nouns and verbs.

What number gives the same result when it is added to 1.5 as when it is multiplied by 1.5?

The answer is 3.

3 + 1.5 = 4.5

3 x 1.5 = 4.5

Yes --- Thanks

Take the letters ERGRO. Put three letters in front of it, and the same three letters behind to form a common English word.

The shepherd who had three loaves should get one coin and the shepherd who had five loaves should get seven coins. If there were eight loaves and three men, each man ate two and two-thirds loaves. So the first shepherd gave the hunter one-third of a loaf and the second shepherd gave the hunter two and one-third loaves. The shepherd who gave one-third of a loaf should get one coin and the one who gave seven-thirds of a loaf should get seven coins.

A fireman is running to get a net under a lady who looks like she might jump off the balcony of her 20 story apartment building. There is nothing below her except a 20 story fall. The fireman is still 100 yards away when she falls and can't nearly get there in time. The woman is not hurt more than a bruise. How is that possible?
