Because the Bay Country Festival committee was so frustrated with certain members of the Sailwinds board for their actions last year that to my knowledge they chose not to be a part of the Festival this year so Sailwinds is running the entire event on their own. Can't blame them myself. I've heard enough about the 2 presiding members of the board to make me not want to step foot in that place as long as they have anything to do with it!

greydog ... There is 5 1/4 hours of local talent ... I don't know who's on the playbill .... that's what I'm trying to have brought before the public. Have you seen any of the posters or flyers for this event? If you have .. this is your opportunity .. you tell us. I am not local talent. I just supply them with the 'tools of the trade'.
There have been over 130 people view this topic ... I wonder if any of them know.

Who or what groups??? Exactly my point. 
Local talent is billed on Sunday 7/6 from 1:00 p.m to 6:15 p.m. ... just before 'Shelley Abbott' and 'The Drifters' ... see website.

I have been contacted by Janel Jones, the buisness manager at Sailwinds, and she assured me that proper billing would be given everyone. Thanx Janel. I have not seen any posters or flyers myself, but Ms Jones states, "for what its worth every poster and flyer made for this event listed ALL acts." Where are the posters posted, and/or where can I obtain a flyer? I realize radio time is expensive, maybe that's why WAAI failed to recognize the volunteer local talent.
I would like to apologize to Ms Jones for venting my frustrations, and the frustrations of the local talent that deals with Strings-n-Things, for being jerked around or having been jerked around in the past. Most feel that Sailwinds Park could be a really great asset to this area if there were not, as granny says, "TOO MANY COOKS IN THE KITCHEN."

It's really a shame that Sailwinds thinks so little of the local talent that volunteers their time to help make YOUR event a success, that you cannot even refer to them by a NAME. It seems that if you wanted to gain the respect of the community you would do more to promote the local talent, not banish them to the ranks of the 'also rans'!!]
