PRESTON, Md.- Authorities are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with an early Sunday morning shooting that left two women seriously injured in Preston.
The Caroline County Sheriff's Office says that at around 1:06 a.m. deputies responded to a reported shooting complain at the Thunder Guard motorcycle club's lodge on Poplar Neck Road in Preston.
Police say that responding deputies found two women with gun shot wounds. The first victim was a 47-year-old female with gun shot wounds to her thigh and shoulder. She was airlifted by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The second victim was a 23-year-old female who had been shot in her buttocks. She was transported to Memorial Hospital at Easton and later transferred to Shock Trauma for surgery.
The on-scene investigation revealed that the motorcycle club had a party with approximately 300 guests. According to police, a few minutes before 1 a.m., 34-year-old Dontaye Jerome Lake arrived at the party. Lake had previously been barred from the property and was asked to leave. Police say Lake refused to leave and had to be physically removed from the property. According to police, a short time later Lake returned with a large caliber handgun and began shooting without concern or a specific target. Police say that as a result, the two victims were wounded and Lake fled the scene.
Lake's car was later recovered. Police say that Lake remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Lake is known to frequent the areas of Federalsburg, Cambridge and Baltimore City. Lake is currently wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.
According to police, Lake is black, 5-foot-5 and weighs 165 pounds.
