I just received this in a e-mail from CNN Breaking News.... Sarah Palin says she will step down as governor of Alaska in a "few weeks" -- before the end of her term.

I'd have tremendously more respect for her if she was putting her family first, yet at the same time there's a huge double standard there. She has plenty of money, a wonderful home and family. maybe she can just enjoy life for awhile without the media intrusion... write a book...
What I just heard, she is stepping down.

She will not go away, sorry for you luck on that one. You are getting ready to see an end run around. Will be interesting to watch.

This is the smartest move she has made during her political career. Good riddance!

MSNBC just ran Palin giving her speech about stepping down and wow,  rambling doesn't even come close to how she sounded.  I'm sure the speech will be replayed over and over.  Tina Fey will only have to quote this speech word for word to get a laugh.  This stuff is too good to make up.  Instant comedy. It was incoherent AND rambling.  Be sure to catch it if you can.

One of the Fox news analyst, (Krautheimer ? or something like that), said when she gave her statement she was sort of rambling.  He said although many in the Republican party like her, he felt she would never make a serious candidate for President.
