Banner Desert Medical Center will host a new men's health program, Grills, Guys and Good Sex. While most men make time to throw the ball around or fire up the barbecue, they often do not make the time for recommended medical screening tests. At the Grills, Guys and Good Sex seminar, Robert Bloomberg, MD, internal medicine, will review which medical screenings men need and when. Unlike diagnostic tests, which clinicians order when they suspect someone has a disease, screening tests help check for problems before there are symptoms.
Mike Chasin, MD, urologist, will explain the latest treatment options for one of the most common conditions affecting men today: Erectile Dysfunction (ED). The good news is that nearly every case is treatable. Options range from lifestyle changes to medications, as well as more permanent solutions such as penile implants. Our experts will discuss other things men can do to stay healthy, such as making healthier food choices and exercising. A question and answer period will follow the program.
“Our Spirit of Women program has been so successful in helping women lead healthier lives,” says Wendy Tee, RN, Spirit coordinator, “we want to make good health easier and more accessible to men too. Men will receive a panel card with guidelines to engage with their doctor to decide which screening tests are right for them.”
Spouses or partners are invited to accompany attendees. The seminar, which is free and open to the public, will last approximately 90 minutes. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited and reservations are strongly advised.
