Fulton Homes and Sheriff Joe Team Up for "Pink Boxers for Breast Cancer" Fundraiser
Tempe-based homebuilder Fulton Homes and radio station 98.7 the Peak are teaming up with Sheriff Joe Arpaio in the fight against breast cancer. Throughout the month of October, Peak listeners are urged to buy a pair of the Sheriff's limited edition pink boxer shorts, with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"This is a fun way for people to get involved and donate to a cause that touches so many of our lives," said Douglas Fulton, CEO of Fulton Homes. "Please join us in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing a pair of pink boxers. Your contribution can make a difference."
The effects of breast cancer are grimly wide-reaching. It is estimated that 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her life, and there are approximately 2.4 million women in the United States living with this deadly disease, according to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"Finding a cure for breast cancer is something that I take very seriously, and I urge everyone come out and buy the boxers and support this campaign," said Sheriff Joe.
Sheriff Joe dyed the boxers pink in 1995 to keep the inmates from stealing them, but they're still a hot item. Now, Sheriff Joe and Fulton Homes are using them to represent a much bigger cause.
Sheriff Joe will also be holding an autograph signing for the boxers, so be on the lookout for a special media advisory with the time and location to be announced soon.
