Goldfield Day of the Cowboy Events: Events held at Goldfield Ghost Town, 4650 N. Mammoth Mine Road (five miles north of downtown Apache Junction on State Route 88) include Drovers Opening Procession, Earp-Holliday Mustache Contest sponsored vy H&R Block, Twin Cities Federal’s Kids Korral, Fast Draw Showdown sponsored by the National Rifle Association and Country Financial. Ongoing events throughout the day include gunfights by the Goldfield Gun Fighters, street skits and characters by the Arizona Renaissance Faire’s “Old West Players,” western art and craft show, Drill and Polish by the Buffalo Soldiers of the Arizona Territories, Professor Marvel’s Patent Medicine Show and the Beautiful Bordello Girls of Lulu’s Sporting House. Events at the  P.T. Barnum Entertainment Emporium at Goldfield (sponsored by the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport) include: Pioneer Pepper and the Sunset Pioneers, Cowgirls Historical Foundation Fashion Show and Revue, Dennis Lease & his Wandering Fiddle with Paydirt, “A Day with The Duke” – John Anderson as John Wayne, “Whistling” Gary Trexler Show and Col. Travis’s One Man Wild West Show. Goldfield is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free; parking is $2 per car.
