Cigna Medical Group Announces Grand Opening of CareToday Clinic in Anthem, Ariz.
PHOENIX - May 15, 2009 - Cigna Medical Group has announced the opening of its newest CareToday convenient care clinic in Anthem. This brings the total number of CareToday clinics to six.
CareToday Anthem is located in the Anthem Crossroads shopping center at Daisy Mountain Drive and Gavilan Peak Parkway, 39510 North Daisy Mountain Drive, Suite 166, Anthem, Ariz.
Staffed with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, the clinics offer after hours and unscheduled care for minor injuries or ailments such as colds, ear aches, flu, strep throat, lower back pain, bladder infections and pink eye. In addition, the clinic offers child and adult immunizations and pregnancy tests. School, sports and camp physicals are also available for $25.
“CareToday is a convenient alternative that can accommodate local residents who may be unable to see their primary care physician because of time or other issues, said James Burrell III, M.D., chief medical officer of Cigna Medical Group. “Expanding the number of CareToday clinics helps ensure that our community has access to care for minor illnesses when they need it.”
All CareToday locations are currently offering a special $29 charge for first time visits. Most regular visits cost $59 and some lab services are only $10. A select number of generic prescription medications are available for only $10. Individuals covered by CIGNA HealthCare (and individuals covered under other accepted health plans) pay only their office visit co-pay or co-insurance. “Individuals could ultimately pay less at a CareToday for the same services they would receive at an urgent care clinic, making this an ideal economic alternative for walk-in or uninsured patients,” adds Burrell.
The Anthem location is open to the public seven days a week and most holidays. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends and most holidays.
