OCT 25 - Recording Artists Anthony Hamilton Presents Wife Tarsha McMillan Hamilton at the 2008 AZ Black Expo at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa
Phoenix, AZ, - - TARSHA’ MCMILLIAN HAMILTON will be the featured entertainer at the 2008 Arizona Black Expo. Like many of the premiere artists, McMillian Hamilton is a phenomenal writer and singer who started in the church. She brings her remarkable voice and style to Arizona with her inspiring debut CD The McMillian Story.
Tarsha’ will be ministering to many at the inaugural Prayer Breakfast the morning of the Expo with a voice compared to the strength of Chaka Kahn, simplicity of Aretha Franklin and the spirit of Mahalia Jackson. She will also perform during the Expo with an introduction from her husband, Anthony Hamilton. Tarsha’ will be available during the event for a meet and greet and autograph session.
Anthony Hamilton, who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina first discovered his talent while singing in his churches choir at age ten. In 1993, he left Charlotte and headed to New York City where he signed with Uptown Records. Anthony was first introduced to mainstream audiences with his singing of the chorus on the Grammy Award nominated Nappy Roots’ “Po' Folks" album in 2002. He has recorded these albums, Comin’ from Where I’m From, certified gold Ain’t Nobody Worryin’, Soulife and Southern Comfort. He is currently working on the soon to be released album, The Point Of It All.
At the 2006 BET Awards, Hamilton won the BET J "Cool Like That" Award. And he made a cameo in the film, American Gangster as a soul singer, to which he also contributes music to the film's soundtrack. During the 2008 BET Awards, Hamilton covered/performed Al Green’s "Tired of Being Alone" during a tribute to Green's career.

Ø This is the eighth year of the Arizona Black Expo and approximately 2,000 people attend on an annual basis. There will be fun and activities for the whole family. Admission for children 12 and younger is free. There will be free day-care and activities especially designed for kids from pre-school to tweeners.
