Local Businesses Support Book Drive to Benefit St. Joseph’s Pediatric Patients

What:         The Children’s Health Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center has partnered with Brophy College Preparatory and more than 35 Local First Arizona businesses – including Wildflower Bread Company, the Phoenix Zoo, Fez, Switch, Dog Eared Pages and CONSPIRE – to launch a book drive effort to benefit the hospital’s pediatric patients. The drive will begin with a presence at the Third Annual Roosevelt Row Harvest Festival where attendees can donate books and enjoy live music and kids’ activities. In addition, collection bins will be stationed at participating Local First Arizona businesses. All the books collected will be distributed at the Children’s Health Center to ensure that every patient has a book to enjoy.

Who:           All members of the community are encouraged to donate to the charity book drive and participate in events that support St. Joseph’s Children’s Health Center.

When / Where:

·        Noon-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18
The drive will kick off at the Third Annual Roosevelt Row Harvest Festival, a free outdoor urban festival along Roosevelt Street between Fourth and Seventh streets in Phoenix.

·        Oct. 18-Nov. 21
Books can by dropped into collection bins at one of more than 35 Local First Arizona member businesses. A complete list of participating businesses is available online at http://www.supportstjosephs.org.

Why:           St. Joseph’s Children’s Health Center – the second largest provider of pediatric services in Arizona – cares for more than 40,000 children each year. The month-long campaign will ensure that more books are available to these pediatric patients.
