GLENDALE, Ariz. – Mayor Elaine Scruggs will help kickoff the 2008 Arizona Black Expo at a special ribbon-cutting event at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa.
This is the first time in the statewide expo’s seven-year existence that it will be held in Glendale. The event is estimated to attract more than 2,000 attendees from across Arizona and the Valley.
“We’re pleased to be the host city for this year’s event,” said Scruggs. “I’m sure the expo organizers and their guests will find the accommodations at the Renaissance and Westgate to be first-rate and a perfect fit for their event.”
The Arizona Black Expo & Job Fair provides African-American businesses an opportunity to market their goods and services to consumers and network with other businesses; provides companies the opportunity to market to the African-American community; and expose African Americans to companies that will enhance their businesses, health and personal life.
The Arizona Black Expo & Job Fair is produced by The Leadership Consortium, a Valley based non-profit organization that identifies, recruits, develops and retains leaders of color in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Friday the 24th, there will also be a job fair from 11 am to 4 pm
