Krispy Kreme Reopens & Brings “The Glazy Days of Summer” to Mesa
MESA, ARIZ. (April 22, 2008) – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) will open its doors in Mesa at 6626 E. Superstition Springs Blvd. – just south of Hwy 60 – on Tuesday, May 13, at 5:30 a.m. when it officially turns on its Hot Doughnuts Now sign.
“We’re confident that there’s one place where a rising temperature is going to be welcomed and that’s in Mesa where our hot glazed doughnuts will first return to the Arizona market,” said Dan Brinton, Mesa Krispy Kreme franchise partner. “I am a believer in Krispy Kreme because it’s a quality product and an iconic brand. I’m personally committed to maintaining quality standards, being involved in the community and bringing the Hot doughnut experience to all Phoenicians. It may take some time, but Krispy Kreme will become the neighborhood doughnut destination.”
The opening day celebration at Krispy Kreme will be filled with fun activities and prizes. The first 24 lobby customers will each receive a Mesa Krispy Kreme T-shirt numbered 1 through 24. The first lobby customer will be awarded a year’s supply of doughnuts (52 dozen). The next 23 lobby customers will each win a dozen doughnuts a month for a year. The first 12 drive-thru cars will each receive a Krispy Kreme prize package, which includes a dozen doughnuts a month for a year. All opening day guests 18-years-old and up can enter-to-win a “Glazy Days of Summer” party for themselves and 24 guests.
In addition, the first 100 lobby customers will each receive a free limited edition “Glazy Days of Summer” Krispy Kreme T-shirt and every customer will receive a free Hot Original Glazed doughnut sample on opening day. A hot glazed dedication and store opening ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 a.m.
The Mesa store will be open seven days a week. Lobby and drive-thru service will be available Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. until 11 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, 5:30 a.m. until midnight.
The store will feature the traditional “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign. When illuminated, the “Hot Light” announces to customers that the store is making hot, fresh Original Glazed doughnuts. Other features include convenient drive-thru service, spacious customer seating and a glass viewing area so customers can watch the doughnuts being made.
The Mesa store will offer 15 varieties of doughnuts, including Krispy Kreme’s signature Hot Original Glazed doughnut. The store also will offer Krispy Kreme’s Signature Coffee line that features two drip coffees – Smooth and Robust Decaf – all made from high-quality coffee beans roasted by Krispy Kreme’s own Roastmaster to exact specifications. The Mesa store will also offer Krispy Kreme Chillers as well as Shamrock Farms milk and flavor shot options such as “Original Kreme,” cinnamon, caramel and more.
