Beds needed for Homeless Children and those Living in Poverty

Mesa, Tuesday, June 23rd 2009

Save the Family provides housing for homeless families and those living in poverty.  The majority of the families we see are coming from a shelter and have no furniture of their own.  We provide them with beds and furniture, and upon successful completion of our program, they are granted the opportunity to take those items with them.  We currently are low on beds.  We never want to move a family into a home without a bed to sleep on.  We are asking the community for full, twin and queen size mattress, frames and boxsprings.  Pick up is available valley-wide.  Please call Denise at 480-898-0228x228 to schedule.

Save the Family (http://www.savethefamily.org) provides transitional housing and case management services to more than 300 families a year.  With more than 160 housing units serving homeless families with children throughout the Valley, Save the Family is changing the face of homelessness one family at a time.  Through programs like Career Development and domestic violence and parenting classes, clients in Save the Family’s program learn to become both economically and emotionally self-sufficient.

MISSION STATEMENT:  We help children in homeless families by treating the whole family with programs to break the negative cycles of poverty, abuse and homelessness.  We strengthen the Valley’s communities by facilitating their transition to self-sufficiency.
