A tide of seaworthy events ripples through Thunderbird Retirement Resort as the Glendale retirement community casts off on a virtual, five-day cruise on board the fantasy ship, Thunderbird of the Seas.

Residents are “cruising” the Caribbean Sea all week, and local seniors are invited to enjoy a “daytrip” with Thunderbird Retirement Resort’s world-class residents when the T-Bird Cruise Line itinerary docks in Jamaica on Fri., June 19.

On June 19 at 1 p.m. enjoy a relaxing trip to the tropical island of Jamaica via the “Armchair Travel Documentary” video showing in the retirement community’s Starlight Theater. In cruise-ship fashion, at 2 p.m. make an Island Hat with Dreadlocks. At 6 p.m. is an Ice Sculpting demonstration. Then to add a reggae rhythm to this taste of the Caribbean, a Steele Drum Band performs at 7 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m. Banana Daiquiris will be served.

To savor the sights and sounds of Jamaica, chart a course to the Thunderbird Retirement Resort located at 5401 W. Dailey St., one block north of Thunderbird Road at 53rd Avenue in Glendale. Space is limited. For reservations call Thunderbird Retirement Resort at 602-588-1492 by June 18.

Come on board Thunderbird Retirement Resort where splashy events such as these fill the calendar year-round. The retirement community’s crew goes overboard to offer residents a luxurious, carefree lifestyle that resembles that of a fine cruise line every day of the year.
