Upcoming Activities Scheduled at
Interfaith’s Chez Nous Center & Café and Birt’s Bistro & Bookstore
Northwest Valley, AZ - Interfaith Community Care’s Chez Nous Center and Café, located at 14495 R.H. Johnson Boulevard in Sun City West, and Birt’s Bistro and Bookstore, located at 16752 North Greasewood Street in Surprise, offer several classes to individuals in the community interested in learning something new. Made-to-order sandwiches, soup du jour, and an array of hot and cold specialty coffee drinks are available throughout the day at both Chez Nous and Birt’s. A hot meal is served daily in Chez Nous at noon – reservations are required and taken one day in advance before noon.
Chez Nous Schedule
• Afternoon Movie – Enjoy “Tom Brown’s School Days” on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m.
• Camaraderie and Creativity: Art During the Summer – Join in the fun on Wednesday, July 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Thoughtful Conversational Cafe – Join in the discussion on Wednesday, July 1 at 1:30 p.m.
• Yoga with Mary Jane – Six week session for $10 begins on Wednesday, July 1 at 2 p.m.
• Intermediate Conversational French – Twelve classes for $8 begins Thursday, July 2 at 10 a.m. with Claudine Hathaway.
• Rx360 – Shelly Mowrey and The Partnership for a Drug-Free America-Arizona Affiliate will teach about the alarming trend of ‘pharming’ and how to properly dispose of medications on Thursday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m.
• Chez Nous Center and Café will be closed for Independence Day on Friday, July 3
Birt’s Bistro Schedule
• Art Class – Four class session for $60 begins Monday, June 29 with Gar Witherspoon.

Chez Nous (pronounced “shay new”) and Birt’s are designed to offer active seniors places to socialize, meet new people, learn new things, and enjoy a healthy meal. Both Chez Nous and Birt’s are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and provide attendees with entertainment, exercise, and educational programs. Birt’s also offers a used bookstore with a wonderful selection of books available for purchase as well as free Wi-Fi access. Social workers are available in the information and referral offices in Birt’s to provide support and help for those seeking community resources.
