Mountain Vista Medical Center is hosting a summer physician lecture series on a variety of health issues. These informal seminars are designed to educate the community about key health topics. 

To register for these or any of the free seminars this summer, log onto http://www.mvmedicalcenter.com  or call 1-877-924-WELL (9355). Space is limited, so register today. Classrooms 3 & 4 are located on the second floor, behind the cafeteria. Park on the east side of the hospital and enter through the Outpatient area.

June topics are:  

Foot Care for Women – High Heels, Pedicures and What is That Fungus?
Tuesday, June 2, 6 – 7 p.m.
Mountain Vista Medical Center, 1301 S. Crismon Road, Mesa
Classrooms 3 & 4, Second Floor
James Bodmer, D.P.M., will discuss the effects high heels have on women, the pros and cons of pedicures and other common foot problems.

Atypical Symptoms of Heart Disease in Women
Wednesday, June 3, noon – 1 p.m.
Mountain Vista Medical Center, 1301 S. Crismon Road, Mesa
Classrooms 3 & 4, Second Floor
Estela Apolinar, M.D., will discuss the atypical symptoms and risk factors that women experience when dealing with heart disease and the latest treatments available.

A Woman’s Heart: What You Need to Know
Tuesday, June 9, 6 – 7 p.m.

Iva Smolens, M.D., will discuss what women need to know about keeping their hearts healthy and the effects that stress and age can have on the heart.

Heart Health 101 – What You Need to Know for Yourself and Your Family
Thursday, June 18, noon – 1 p.m.

Julie Ramos, M.D., will discuss heart health basics and the importance of family health history.

Cryoablation - Decrease or Stop Your Menstrual Cycle
Tuesday, June 23, 6 – 7 p.m.
Mountain Vista Medical Center, 1301 S. Crismon Road, Mesa
Classrooms 3 & 4, Second Floor
Stephine Kramer, M.D., will discuss Cryoablation, a minimally invasive procedure that uses sub-zero temperatures to reduce or eliminate excessive menstrual periods.

Postmenopause and the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
Tuesday, June 30, 6 – 7 p.m.
Mountain Vista Medical Center, 1301 S. Crismon Road, Mesa
Classrooms 3 & 4, Second Floor
Himanshu Shukla, M.D. will focus on the relationship between cardiovascular disease and women who are postmenopause. Learn about the risks and symptoms to watch for.

This is a personal and informal opportunity for community members to have their questions answered by knowledgeable physicians.
