Upcoming Activities Scheduled at
Interfaith’s Chez Nous Center and Café
Interfaith Community Care’s Chez Nous Center and Café, located at 14495 R.H. Johnson Boulevard in Sun City West, offers several classes to individuals in the community interested in learning something new. In addition, made-to-order sandwiches, soup du jour and an array of hot and cold specialty coffee drinks are available throughout the day. A hot meal is served daily at 12 p.m., reservations are requested.
- Mondays with Yourself – Focus on personal growth and transformation with facilitator, Helen Slemons on Monday, August 4, at 9:30 a.m.
- One Stroke Art – Learn to paint on canvas, glass, candles, fabric, wood or any other “garage sale” finds. It’s fast, easy and fun! Class encompasses both beginner and intermediate levels. Classes begin Monday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or Thursday, August 7, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Afternoon Movies Return to Chez Nous – Enjoy free popcorn and a great movie in the afternoon. Join us for the screening of “Little John” on Monday, August 4, at 1 p.m.
- Cook With Class, “Cool Desserts to Enjoy” – Join Mary Ann Buck for this fun cooking class on Tuesday, August 5, at 9:30 a.m. Come enjoy food samples and take home some recipes to try on your own. A $3 donation is requested to cover food costs. See you there!
- New Poetry Interest Group – Do you love to write, read or listen to poetry? Join us for Chez Nous Center and Café’s new Poetry Interest Group on Tuesday, August 5, at 1 p.m.
- Thoughtful Conversation Cafe – Have something to say? Join us for Thoughtful Conversation Café on Wednesday, August 6, at 1:30 p.m. with facilitator Bruce Sorter.
- Yoga – Yoga increases energy, agility, balance, self-confidence, and body awareness. Join us for Yoga with Mary Jane on Wednesday, August 6, at 2 p.m.
- CPR and First Aid Certification – Get your CPR, First Aid and AD Certification with certified instructor, Heather Hinshaw, on Thursday, August 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- That Isn’t What I Meant to Say – Dr. David Gershaw presents a special Non-Verbal Communication lecture on Thursday, August 7, at 1 p.m. This presentation will help you understand how we communicate above and beyond words – whether we are conscious of it or not.
- Sun City Writers’ Group – Chez Nous invites anyone with an interest in writing to this fun class that meets the second Friday of each month. Please join us on Friday, August 8, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Chez Nous (pronounced shay new) is designed to offer active seniors a place to socialize, meet new people, learn new things and enjoy a healthy meal. The café, open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., provides attendees with table games, entertainment, exercise, and educational programs.
