Upcoming Activities Scheduled at
Interfaith’s Chez Nous Center and Café
Interfaith Community Care’s Chez Nous Center and Café, located at 14495 R.H. Johnson Boulevard in Sun City West, offers several classes to individuals in the community interested in learning something new. In addition, made-to-order sandwiches, soup du jour and an array of hot and cold specialty coffee drinks are available throughout the day. A hot meal is served daily at 12 p.m., reservations are requested.
- Ribbon Embroidery – Learn to do this quick art on any garmet with instructor Glorianna Nickolis on Monday, August 11, at 9 a.m. Stop by the reception desk at Chez Nous to see a sample and to pick up a supply list.
- Afternoon Movies Return to Chez Nous – Enjoy free popcorn and a great movie in the afternoon. Join us for the screening of “Must Love Dogs” on Monday, August 11, at 1 p.m.
- How and Why to Buy an Apple Computer – Bill Turvin gives insight about Apple Computers and is ready to answer your questions on Tuesday, August 12, at 9 a.m.
- iPod 101 – Join Charles Lagergren as your instructor for iPod 101 on Tuesday, August 12, at 10:45 a.m. Learn more about your iPod and other electronic toys currently on the market.
- Intermediate French – This is a wonderful opportunity to practice the French you already know while learning a few new words too. Join instructor Colette Guiberteau for the first class on Wednesday, August 13, at 8:30 a.m.
- Writing About Your Life Experiences – Come and share your life experiences in a one-day writing class on Thursday, August 13, at 9 a.m. Annette Quinata will guide you through the writing process as you reminisce about special people, events or experiences in your life. You will need to bring in at least three pictures to write about.
- Meditation and Spiritual Practice – This class will focus on the journey to inner peace and joy based on the teachings of Eckart Tolle, Buddha and many others. Join us on Wednesday, August 13, at 9:30 a.m.
- A Touch of Nostalgia – Join us for a musical lunch hour. Enjoy lunchtime entertainment compliments of Nona Uthoff and friends as they lead diners in karaoke with music from the 30s, 40s, and 50s on Wednesday, August 13, starting at 11:30 a.m.
- Verbal Communication – Learn to say what you mean. Dr. David Gershaw leads this special class covering how we often misuse language and how to make meaning clearer to others. Learn more on Thursday, August 14, at 1 p.m.
- Valley Fever – Learn the signs and symptoms of Valley Fever from Pat White on Thursday, August 14, at 1 p.m.
- Harp Music – Join us for a musical lunch hour full of soothing harp music on Friday, August 15, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Chez Nous (pronounced shay new) is designed to offer active seniors a place to socialize, meet new people, learn new things and enjoy a healthy meal. The café, open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., provides attendees with table games, entertainment, exercise, and educational programs.
