A kind heart and an empathetic ear are the main requirements for serving as a volunteer for Hospice of the Valley, a not-for-profit that cares for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Duties include listening and talking with patients, reading, playing cards, running errands or sitting with a patient while the family caregiver takes a break.
A training session will be held July 6 through July 27, meeting from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays at Hospice of the Valley’s West Clinical Office. Information: 602-636-6336 or hov.org.

 Current time is 01:08 pm
