Public invited to attend and participate in Sussex County Heart & Soul Forum and Workshop events
The University of Delaware’s Coastal Community Enhancement Initiative (CCEI) is sponsoring a public forum and workshop and cordially invites Sussex Countians to attend either or both events scheduled to discuss and evaluate the Heart & Soul of Sussex County.
On Monday, June 22, 2009, beginning at 5:30 p.m., a Sussex County-style barbecue dinner will be served at the Grove, the picnic grounds on the east side of the Elbert N. and  Ann V. Carvel Research and Education Center on Route 9 in Georgetown. After dinner, attendees will be asked to participate in an informal town hall forum to discuss “The Heart & Soul of Sussex County – Where do we go from here?” The town hall forum is scheduled to end at 9 p.m.
On Tuesday, the Heart & Soul Workshop –The Heart & Soul of Sussex County – A county in transition,” continues inside the Carvel facility beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a Continental breakfast. The public will be presented with the current status of development in Sussex County and  towns. They will examine potential growth trends for Sussex County and Delmarva and explore several alternative growth scenarios, using Community Viz, an interactive and visual land use program. Participants will also use an audience response technology to record their feedback.  Lunch will be provided. The workshop will end at 2 p.m.
