We join you in that prayer Dorothy, may someone step up and be the hero and stop this nonsense. That would be a wonderful day for Nightmare Villa. Then old Bable Billie wouldn't have anything to be happy about. Don't you just wonder how a thinking person could be a member of that board? But as you look at the list of board members, is there a thinker amoung them? I leave it up to the community, any thinkers ?

We need to remind ourselves that for 300 million of us this land has provided a Blessed bounty of wealth and freedom because our belief is that liberty itself is a gift from God Almighty, and is not bestowed, nor taken from us by the force of any group or government. That includes this club who who have apparently allowed themselves to fall under the spell of the Evil One and they covet their neighbor's property and money, and seek to deny them their God given rights to own and control their own property. You are correct Dorothy, life can be a real burden sometimes. When a Club and misguided individuals who have given up all reason and thought, add to that burden it is sad. But you are also correct, we have reason to rejoice today and we do. Our pray is that in the coming months truth and reason will prevail and we will see the mandatory membership mess and forced dues in a social club laid to rest once and for all. Then and only then can we get on with the joy of living out our retirement years in peace and harmony.

Life is sometimes very discouraging. These are difficult years for those of us who are aging and unwell. As you probably know, my mother is months away from her 96th Birthday...we are blessed...she is well.
Like all of us with large families living at a distance, we try to keep in touch via email and through land line communications every day. I have 3 brothers, all retired, and a sister; also retired, so we are no longer young people, and as a result we have lost family members near and dear over the past year.
It would be easy to lapse into a profound funk, but she rises to marvel at the sunrise each day...watch the golfers, and the geese and ducks and a large crane while she works her crossword puzzle in the Tribune.
This morning, she rose and said it's Easter! God is in his Heaven and all is well!
To all Christians, I say HE IS RISEN, REJOICE! To everyone else I say: GOD IS IN HIS HEAVEN AND ALL IS WELL. Love, Dorothy

One last comment on The Devil and Daniel Webster blog to DVman that has slipped through the cracks in Alas' befuddled comments...THE ENTIRE BOARD VOTED TO EXPEL VICKI, RICHARD AND MYSELF IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING MY COMMENTS TO MURKAWSKI REGARDING HIS USE OF THAT BLOG COMMENT TO DVMAN!!!!
That is the real issue here. Somehow a gentle chiding has become vile threat against Billie T. !!!
Of course, it isn't the issue at all...this is just another ploy by the followers of Geobble's technique of telling a lie so often they begin to believe it themselves...
The board's real reason for expulsion was an attempt to affect the outcome of Vicki's court case regarding the concealment of club documents...(in this case the ballots of a contested election), and to silence all opposition to the boards unlawful attempt to lien their neighbor's property in Sections 7, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, & 19.
I will remind you that the serious money resides in only four sections...that is to say, 7, 14, 15, 16 are required to support all the rest of DV. Sections 17, 18 and 19 do not have as many lots combined as does Section 14.
Now that less than half the voluntary sections are paying their dues, (my suspicion is much less than half would pay if the club wasn't deliberately trying to convey the impression that they were required to pay.
This is their attempt to change the subject. It won't work. Dorothy

Yes, Dorothy, it would be great to be back where we were a few years ago--able to enjoy the club when we wanted to--IF we wanted to. They are really destroying everything and blaming it on the dissidents. All I did was pay my dues and enjoy a few of the activities--until they started trying to MAKE me pay them and make an HOA out of a community club.

Dreamlandman They failed to adjourn to a time certain, so I assume they did not reconvene that meeting outside the rules.
If they did so, it would also be outside the law as stated in the Open Meetings Statutes. They are not allowed to poll the Board electronically or telephonically either...ALL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD AT WHICH ANY BUSINESS IS CONDUCTED MUST BE OPEN TO MEMBERS....UNLESS IT IS COVERED IN THE STATUTES...meetings about personnel matters, or legal strategies is exempt. Matters such as changing the rules must be conducted in regular open sessions, after proper notice to members. Dorothy

Dear Wanda: I am not in the least intimidating...unless of course you are a member of the Board trying to conceal your actions...or proposing to amend rules and bylaws etc. without notice or member's in put.
I really am trying to persuade the Board that it is in their best interest as a club that represents its member's best interests to protect their members and ultimately, themselves from a predatory attorney with only his wallet on his mind.
Who would believe that the same BOD who just last year accused the dissidents of lying when they claimed that the board was preparing to lien DV property? Well, Billie Taparro signed off on 39 liens against her neighbor's property on December 8, 2006! Who was lying?
Read The Citizen...the mistatements of their goals and the nature of the Second Amended Declaration of Restrictions, (SADR, or recently, "the New CC&Rs") are legion.
I recently had occasion to re-read the minutes from the November 2004 Board Meeting at which the amendments to the Articles of Inc...Constitution and Bylaws were proposed and approved for presentation to members at the Annual Nominations meeting on January 13, 2004.
Jim Cook makes the comment that all the proposed amendments to the club's governing documents would have to be approved by the members, and that the board's approval was "pro forma".
At that time, the required vote was 2/3 of those present and voting in person...in the affirmative...to pass the proposed amendments.
The vote failed on all propositions. The number present and voting in person was 480. Of that number, 296 voted in favor, and 192 opposed. Two-thirds of 480 is 325+!
As a result of the above described outcome, the club has no legal authority to impose mandatory membership or dues on any DV resident, nor to instruct their lawyer to file for judicial liens on their property.
(This same attorney is refusing to allow even election officials to review the ballots...by hiding them in a sealed envelope three days after the January 13, 2004 meeting.)
Ask yourself Wanda. If the results of that meeting are as the Board claims, what would they have to lose by allowing anyone to recount the ballots cast and counted?
If, in fact, there are 325+ legal votes in the affirmative...the club's authority would be unchallenged...If not, they need to release their claims on property in DV, and try making the club a pleasant place to be, as it has been in the past 40+ years.
Stop persecuting DV owners, and go straight. Be nice, wouldn't it? Dorothy7

You anwered No! Then go on to bable about you didn't send ANOTHER letter and then go on to explain the contents of the ORIGINAL letter you sent!
I will add what I witnessed! I attended a Board meeting at a time when Board Members, Bille and Maxwell had been recieving hate mail and death threats. Billie had recieved a letter from you that she thought was threating or hate related. She read the letter word for word while you were present. 12/18/06 5:55pm you posted on this site about the letter and your reactions to the fact you wrote it and she read it!
This letter was brought back into the mix when you told Les a week ago or so that "we ( you & other dissidents ) don't send hate mail"!

You know Babel sounds more and more like Mary Ann. Just read her in and around the villa column in the Funny Papers. you know the one where all your retirement nightmares can come true, she weaves little political stories in and amoung the ceramic crap and the latest place to eat or not eat and farewell to the winter visitors etc etc ad naseum. THE LETTER WAS WRITTEN TO DREAMLAND MAN ON THIS SITE. IT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED TO BILLIE, AND IN NO WAY THREATENED HER.
MY OPINION OF THE THE "DEATH THREAT" IS THAT THE POST CARD FROM THE GOOF BALL WHO WROTE IT WAS A HOAX...CREATED BY THE BOARD FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION. IT'S TOO HOAKY TO BE A REAL THREAT, AND TOO TIMELY TO BELIEVE.

His Nightmare Villa bunch ran to his side like a bunch of insecure school children wanting his assurance that they are not going to loose. OK here is the deal, there is no letter that Dorothy wrote to Law and Order Billie T. No sinful, wretched , horrible letter that Mr Morowtski read in open meeting. That never happened, he took it from a blog posting. PERIOD> Better change the truth o meter batteries ! If anyone has a copy of the letter that Mr Morowtski read, produce it or shut up .

Dear Leslie: We will now have an investigation of our hateful letters...posters, and articles in the Citizen by the Sheriff's office. Depositions will be taken under oath. Getting to the bottom of the chicanery is what I'm after. Please turn over the threat in the Devil and Daniel Webster letter...I'm sure Joe will have a good laugh over that, as did I.
Most of us have not only received threats, many are suffering the costs of legal action in court to stop them from being carried out. So far, the board members who instigated all this animosity have skated away...no more!!! The law must be enforced around here, and the source of the lawlessness is over there at Read Hall instigated by the Board, and carried out by their infamous lawyer!
I don't wonder that the desperate victims send you hate mail. At least, they're not down at the county clerk's siezing your property on the sneak, and sending you bills for thousands you don't owe. Dorothy7

When we bought this place I thought with the gravel yard it would be maintianace free. Wrong! All these leaves to keep cleaned up! Are you just brain dead this morning, or have you read the letter? You always have all the answers so why wouldn't you have the so called letter ? You talk about starting visicious remours but yet you don't think twice about the so called letter. You have beat that to death so let it go . Put up or shut up. Keep your binoculars trained on our house so if one leaf gets out of line you can call the County and file a complaint.

Not that it has anything to do with the issues except to show people on both sides of the conflict have recieved threats and have sent threats!
