FYI...   One question asked at the meeting " did the city help maintain the 55+ overlay if annexed"  the answer right from their rep was " NO"   the HOA's and or Clubs policed their communities.  Another reason to be relieved the threat of annexation is over for now.

On the activity side of the community:  This past week 2 performances were put on by you friends and neighbors at Farnsworth Community Theater.  Fri afternoon and sat evening!  The theme was Happy Trails reminicing the Western days of our youth.  Had great skits, solos, duets and a cowboy quartet singing Home on the Range!  The group of women that do the dance routines are the best in the valley!

A great show coming tues PM at 7:30..   continuing a great season of entertainment in our own community..

Just a simple questions...so even the(        )can answer...Won't the sewer cost be the same, whether we are in an HOA?, the City?, or just back in the midwest when it happens...or just sleeping right here in 'Happy-Villa Land???...maybe some of us just have too much 'sand' in our ears/ eyes...and brains???????, you know...long skinny legs, kind of a big butt, 'great eyelids'...for hiding from the enemy...whether they do it here or back 'home'...I bought this house to retire, not tell my neighbors what they 'should' be doing, but to see what they feel & want, so we can live as neighbors...each on our own properties...and I don't have ANY pink, blue or yellow feathers covering my  butt ...CT

Dorothy7;  Connecting to the system and paying for the system are totally different expenses!   Both the city & county had cost $6000. +  to each landowner with corner lot owners paying for for each side of the lot.  Again all I can relay is what THEY said.

Until  it happens county or city, I enjoy my home and community.

Dear Alas:  Again, the cost of CONNECTING TO THE SEWER, including a trenching devise to attach to the main drain to your lot was quoted at 900.00.  At that time, he told me to go down to Albany and get those people to sign up, and it would be less for each...THE REASON is that we are less than 50 feet from the sewer on 56th, and on University.... This was several months ago...January as I recall, but that was the word at that time.  Those who are further away would have to include the cost of laying the lines...I would not...nor would my neighbors.  The parts left out of the projected costs are the interesting ones...aren't they?  Isn't the club house on city sewer?  Dorothy7

R & C;   I can only talk about what I know!  I don't try and impress people by my name calling abilities as you do!   I was a sailor so I could match you name for name but I don't need to make my self feel better by cutting down other people.  The lawsuits don't bother or worry me because I can only concern myself with things I have control over.  Maybe that is why I can be HAPPY IN DREAMLAND!

P.S.    I can accept what ever the courts decide, can you?

No pressure when you enjoy life as the hand is dealt you!  I am sorry that my enjoying living dreamland bothers you!

Bable on and on and on,

How come you didn't talk about the court cases ?  Are you so fixed on anexation being a bad thing?  You are right the " Problem" is solved.  Does any one wonder what political markers where called in or did the City just get tired of the in fighting going on in Nightmare Villa.  So glad the meeting went well and to your liking.  But we have to wonder about the 40 legal cases in the system against the Club.  Have fun at the sing a longs and know we are still busy getting ready for the " Big Battle"  .  Loving Nightmare Villa every day !

Dorothy7:   You printed.... " For example, I was told that connecting to the existing sewer line would cost me less than 900.00."     That is connecting,  there is also the cost of running the sewer down the street in front of your property!   Did that include sealing up your septic tank & dry well,  which has to be done when you connect to the sewer system.

The annexation problem is solved for now so it is mute to talk about it!

Dear Alas:  Back at it are we?  Well, good news!!! Remember old Maxwell asserting that the Summonses would not be moved to the Superior Court?  That the judge would deny the motion to consolidate and move them?
They are moved...to the Superior Court, and will be assigned and heard there.  Alas!
By the way, you can bet we are dileriously happy today...and tomorrow.  This scam is about to be exposed.  More good news!  The club, and its board members who have been abusing their authority and denying member's rights, and collecting money to which they are not legally entitled are in deep...(how can one put it tactfully?) manure???kaka??? (Get my drift?)  Oh devine happiness...blessed Euphoria..thou art mine comfort and solace in this battle for freedom.)  Dorothy7

The informative annexation meeting went verywell!  After about 45 minutes of answering questions given to the board the speakers from the city and the county were asked questions from the floor.  It went very smooth and was well controlled.

During one of the answers from the city, it was mentioned that the Mesa City Counsel had agreed the only way they would accept annexation of any part of Dreamland Villa would be with 100% of approval of the residents!

The opening show for the Farnsworth Community Theater variety show is this afternoon.  Your neighbors and friends have been working long and hard and have put together a fun filled production with a Country Western theme!  There are skits, solo's, groupp songs, duets and our community's own version of " Minnie Pearl"!  There is a 2nd performance Sat Pm.      See you all there!

It is my understanding that the $10,000.00 is for those who wish not only to annex, but are wanting to get off their septic systems, who are not within a certain distance from the sewer line.

It is also my understanding, (from calls made to the city of Mesa), that they would not be interested at this time in annexing the DV sections without sewer service because they simply can't afford to provide that new service to so many in such an old development.

I was told by a man named Cory, in charge of annexation, that those Sections now on the city sewer would have to pay a small fee and collect signatures of a majority of those on their block.

Sections 1 through 6 could be the most expensive because they are furthest from the main sewer lines.  However those lots facing University, Adobe, and 54th and 56th Street would pay substantially less. since the main Sewer line was less than 50 or 60 feet from their house.  For example, I was told that connecting to the existing sewer line would cost me less than 900.00.

As with everything, the truth lies in the details.  Also, most of those in oldest sections are the ones who need to repair or replace their septic systems...another major investment...because of the problems with their dry wells into which their septic tank drains.  I personally do not believe the City or the County will undertake any responsibility for existing septic systems until and unless the Zoning authorities step in because of ground water contamination.

I personally made two trips over to the office to discuss with Billie Taparro the reasons for opposing annexation by the Board.  They refused to tell me, so I called the city...  Dorothy7

Ronno Carr:    I am active in the community so most of my info is 1st hand.

If you attend the annexation information meeting you to0 can get your infomation first hand.   Because of the interest in the subject and the crowds expected, questions were collected from the residents and put in print for the 2 representives to answer.  There will be questions allowed from the floor if they aren't repeats of the one already covered.  The band shell speakers will be on and a person with a mic if needed for the overflow.

Should be informative for all!

Sorry, Cathy...what can you expect from an HOA advocate...I thought only the Russians & Chinese 'used' to think that EVERYONE should look alike, live on the same amount, work the same hours, not 'own' anything(at least as we know it in the USA)...and constantly behave & don't think for ourselves...and especially don't have a thought of our own...I thought we got rid of that system during the REAGAN Administration...CT

HAVE 'ANOTHER' GREAT DAY, CATHY!!!...CT

Cathy, have you ever in your life had a good day?? Woke up in the morning and said thank God the sun is shining today?? I would guess the answer is NO. You have to be the most negative person in Arizona, or maybe in the good old USA. Why do you hate the world?? Have you ever had a day when maybe you smiled one or two times?? Get a life woman. You claim you want to help the elderly but would deny them this chance if you could!!

I would think even someone like Dreamlandman and Dorothy would think it is a good thing for the club or anyone else to have a forum for the residents to get as much info as possible about annexation. Once again your hatred and anger shows it’s ugly face. What do you care how many people show up, if the hall is full, if the parking lot is full, if people have to bring chairs, if they have to listen to outside speakers, if the posse is their to help with traffic. If you find this all overwhelming just stay home and pout. It is just hard to believe that anyone would complain about this meeting……….anyone but you.

The long awaited meeting will be here tomarrow on anexation.  Here is how it is shaking out, 600 people can fit in the hall, wonder what time they will have to get there to get a seat ?  If all 4000 members come that means 3400 can sit outside in their lawn chairs and listen to the meeting being held inside.  Maybe they should get a jumbotron and speakers in the parking lot ?  So another Nightmare is being created in Nightmare Villa.  Do you think the Club, Board of Directors and President might get a clue of the size of the tiger that they have by the tail?  Do you think it might dawn on them they don't have the skills, knowledge, expertise and management to take care of and govern this community ?  Let alone our properties!  Come on you guys get real ! Wonder where the cars are going to park?  Bet the Posse will get a real work out in crowd control.  Lets hope the 600 inside will get some truth from the speakers and the press will have open coverage of the meeting.  That is besides the wonderful reporters for the Citizen.  We shall see.  If it is anything like the meeting at the Library on anexation, another Nightmare shouting and yelling match only larger.  See you there.

Top of the morning to you Mr Dreamlandman.  By the way Mr Rogers was a decorated Navy Seal,  ordained minister and would have been a great neighbor and unlike some neighbors he looked for good in the people he crossed paths with.  I have never been introduced to Mr Maxwell and was to busy working for a living so I don't know the people on the Mr Rogers show as you do!

The blog site must have the hiccups.. there are 3 of your messages!

Well it is going to be another sunny day with warmer temps for the visitors to enjoy.  Another reason to be Happy in Dreamland Villa.

Back to being Happy in Dreamland:    I woke up this morning: now the sun is shining, I could go to the pool & exercise or go to John's for breakfast!   Did you hear about the Variety Show Fri & Sat.  Sounds like it will be fun watching friends & neighbors showing  their talents on the stage of the Farnsworth Community Theater!

Better get, have a busy day ahead!

Babel on and on and on and on,

Once again, nice try but you didn't make it.  You change the subject and babel on and on and on.  You keep trying to convince others that we are few in numbers, the desidents.  In fact and truth we are hundreds and have the signed, notorized, affiedavits in our files to prove it.  Oh, and forty legal cases in the system right now against the club is a convincing number of those who are fed up.  Watch the results in sections Eight and One when and if they start getting the fees, fines and interest letters for 2006.  Can you think there might be a few in those sections that are fed up?  Yeah.

The "Constitutional Government of the Republic of the United States." has been changed over the years as the people saw need.

You Said   "(It's difficult to understand how paying out 16,000.00 in legal fees, and lots more on the way, is "running anything smoothly")."    This expense is caused what group?

You said "Oh, we had a DVCC Constitution.  It provided that we "could choose freely to join our neighbors of like mind to make up a club for social and recreational purposes."

And it provided a way to change the constitution!

The neighbors I talk to aren't under assault accept by a small band dissidents!  They are as happy in Dreamland as I am.

Dear Alas:  You're loosing steam ol' fellow or gal.  Truth is an indominatable weapon against both willful blindness, and malice.
Your tenure here as owner of your little 45 year old home has cast you adrift in a troubled sea of duplicity, law-breaking and 40 lawsuits.

Yellowstone National Park is a National Treasure...owned by the Federal Government operating under the Constitution of the United States of America.
This club, even at its most delusional cannot compare itself and its "benefits" to those who choose to make use of it to that national park...nor the Constitutional Government of the Republic of the United States.

(It's difficult to understand how paying out 16,000.00 in legal fees, and lots more on the way, is "running anything smoothly").

Oh, we had a DVCC Constitution.  It provided that we "could choose freely to join our neighbors of like mind to make up a club for social and recreational purposes."

It guaranteed procedures that protected members and homeowner's Rights. The Board and its nefarious schemes, abetted by an unprincipled charlatan, has done away with the Constitution.  (I wonder how long it will be before they decide to relieve us of our other Rights, and you can go on being "happy" as they do?

Maybe it's time you let the euphoria of "happiness" dwindle enough to help protect your neighbors who are under assault?  Dorothy7

P.S.  Last summer we drove by Yellowstone Nat. Park.  I thought "I never have visited the Park, I never voted for the Park, Why should My taxes go for it?"  Oh!  The National Park system makes the country a better place to live!

Dearest ALAS.."HOLD" on to your opinions...you say that you are not allowing your neighbors to pay for your...'membership privileges' ...why do you lie , right in broad daylite???  Do you think that an HOA is a 'volunteer' organization???  Only to the idiots who think they are great...Talk to ANY AZ Rep/Sen' & ask them what causes their most problems, by the fewest 'individuals', & involving the most innocent people???  And IF you are having such a GRANDIOSE TIME, why in the hell do you want to take 3-4,000 people along with you???  How would you like 3,000 opinions about how you are playing shuffle board, golf, or swimming next to you???  Given a normal average of about 5-10% of them stink, according to your set of 'normal' smells/odors, do you think you would like to eat a 'pot luck', or an Easter dinner, sitting in between a couple or three of them???

My 2 favorite 'sayings' in my family history are as follows: "It is an imperfect world at it's best, Master Jack"...

Now I don't know how much of this world that you think you can/do control, but I do know how much you will end up 'looking' at...no bigger, no less than anyone, any'body' else...about 3'wide X 7' long, maybe a little extra for some plastic flowers, and a weed or two...just like ALL the rest of us...and then you will stink JUST like the rest of us...look like us... & share the same dreamland villa, of St. Whatshis Name...& lots of peace & quiet...PLEASE!!!???......................................................shshshshshshshshshshsh

Goodnite, 'Gracie!'..........................................................................CT

PS...#2 is.........Don't give yourself so much credit...that happens after your 'job' here is done...

Dorothy7;  Thanks for the infomation.  If it is fact then we ( my family ) wait as the legal system sorts things out.  We are going to continue as we are which is enjoying the weather, enjoying friends, family and the great neighbors.  The many volunteers are keeping the community running smoothly and things are enjoyable for most of the residents that I run into.  I have comfort in knowing whatever the outcome, for the most part my life will go on as it is now!

Dear Alas;  You're dues are indeed your business!  My dues are mine.  I have been and am (so far) a member of DVCC.  My intentions are to stay on as a member in order to protect my property and my rights as an American citizen from the dictatorship of a false majority.

In my Section, Section 3, two names over a majority were filed with the Recorder's Office.  Subsequently 17 signatories tried to rescind their signatures, and signed affidavits that they had never heard of nor seen anything called the Second Amended Declaration of Restrictions.  The term, HOA was never mentioned, nor the were they ever informed, either by the solicitors, or in the Citizen that their signature would be used to allow the club to fine, lien or foreclose on their property.
In fact, they testified that the solicitors represented the "petition" as a vote in favor of the Senior Overlay, or a means to keep Mexican's from moving in next door, and trashing their property values.  Even after being told that that statement was a violation of the Civil Rights Act, they persisted.
Now, "Happy in Dreamland", they were defrauded...their "choice" was overtly and deliberately denied them, (as were most of the owners whose signatures were filed.)  Fraud, by definition denies the victim their rights to choose....Get it?

In fact, those rescissions were never allowed.  The club office refused to "take their names off the list on request, and later, in January 2004, they were told to go home that they would not be let inside Farnsworth Hall to rescind their signatures, or that they would not be given a ballot to cast a no vote.

I was never solicited to sign anything.  I was never told that a contract with the club had been filed on my property until after it had been filed.  Dorothy7  Amused by those who are whistling in the dark.

Doroty7:   you have a choice and you have made it !  so why do you continue with your contradictions!

You said today;

"They may have canvassed my neighbors and got half of them to agree to having their property siezed,"

So community had a choice!

You said today;

"If a duly established government taxes you, you have a chance to vote on a candidate who will not, or will lower your rates. "

You have a choice!

You chose to accuse me of theivery and sharing in the loot when all I do is chose to pay my dues as I have from day one!  My life in Dreamlnad hasn't changed!  I did chose not to allow my neighbors to pay for my share of the community ammenities and benefits.

Dear Alas:  You left out the part about leaving me no choice.  Force is the tool of tyranny, not free republics with laws that protect the minority as well as the majority.  You can choose to abet theivery if you share in the loot, but the crime is still theft.
This shabby little social club, that offers no benefits, sneaked down to the County Recorders office and filed an interest in my property without my knowledge or consent.  They may have canvassed my neighbors and got half of them to agree to having their property siezed, but that gave me no choice in the disposition of my own property.  If a duly established government taxes you, you have a chance to vote on a candidate who will not, or will lower your rates.
The courts in several states are in agreement with me on this matter, and in our case those who were canvassed did no know their signature would subject them to liens, penalties, interest, foreclosure and eviction.  Be happy while you can...it's almost over.  Dorothy7

As in all things in life "  you have a choice " !  Most of us are taught this at home, in school and then experience it in life!  We can do anything we want to but we may not like the price we may have to pay!  We could do our homework or chose not to!  When we were working we could pay taxes due or we couldn't chose not too!  We can buy a house and then chose to not make the payments.  We could chose to yell fire in a crowded theater if we wanted too!  Everyone reading this knows where I going with it.   My parents, my teachers, my scout masters, my company commander, my supervisors, my government and yes even my Lord said you have a choice, if you make the wrong choice there will be a price to pay!

The choice I made was to remain a member of the club, pay the dues, enjoy the facilities.  That doesn't make me or all the other neighbors that pay the dues bad people.   If & when there is judgement saying different, I will chose to accept it and live by it.  Will all of you?

Gee Dorothy are you not into Pot Lucks and singing?  Oh we forgot you got kicked out of the Pot Luck and sing a long bunch.  But we somehow think you are not going quietly into the night and bet when your person shows up on their door step they must quake in their boots.  And you are so intimidating !  Put Alfie on his leash and maybe he will bite one of them?  Bad idea, just have him pee on their shoes !

So are we to assume the vote turnout was very low?  Maybe last year was improtant and this year is not ?  Or maybe there were other factors?  If you ask around and think about it you might figure it out.  Will give you a hint, try Pink Papers in small Baggies droped on everyones driveways in a matter of hours.  Even though the Club picked up and threw away as many as they could the message still got out.  This year who cares it is such a mess and it is doomed to destruction.  That will be of their own creation not ours.   They did it and now they have to answer for it.  Mandatory Membership, did they really think we would all go for that ?  Guess so they sure have given it a try .

Dorothy is correct, all we want is a choice, to join or not to join, that is the choice we demand.  No one is going to force us into a social club, Period.  Now maybe they get it ?

All those residing in DV are entitled to spend their retirement as they choose.  Your pleasure is pot luck dinners with whomever YOU choose...and who choose to join you.  You seem to miss that part of free choice gives you happiness...I am demanding the same.  Dorothy   That, and that alone makes everyone happy.  Get it?

To bad the community has no control over the voter turn out,  if they did maybe life would be different.  Last year when there was more at stake they turned out in larger numbers.  So possibly they are happy the way things are going!

I will assure you everything about the vote was above board,  people brought their lists to remind them, I saw one with the resumes from the Citizen.  A group of your neighbors spent hours working the voting places, guarding the boxes, checking Key Kards and ending the long day by counting the ballots.

Thank you neighbors for voting and thanks to all the volunteers for a job well done.

And a special thanks to the 10 nomimees for offering their time and volunteering to serve on the Board of Directors.

On the calender tonight Feb 15th :  Pot Luck for members at 6 PM, with a show at 7PM open to the public featuring Cheryl Leech!  Visit with your neighbors & friends over dinner and then enjoy a great show.

Tomorrow at 7 PM  the Skylarks are featured at the Farnsworth Community Theater!

One thing we know for sure...before Mary Anne prints her fantasy version, there was no majority of owners or members were present.  It will be interesting to see how many voters turned out.  I wonder if anyone acted as monitor or poll watcher?  That bunch is not above reporting votes from the long deceased.  (They also bill them for mandataory dues).

When they get back on a voluntary status, they can be happier and raid the club's treasurery unchallenged by those who refuse to pay for their pipe dreams.  Dorothy7
