‘Am I my Brother’s Keeper’ Outreach Ministry Conference

DOVER — The Richard Avant Foundation of Dover is sponsoring an "Am I my Brother’s Keeper" Outreach Ministry Conference on Thursday, Friday and Sept. 12, in two locations: Union Missionary Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. This conference will feature three anointed evening services and two noon services which are free and open to the public.

The conference’s dynamic preachers include:

Sept. 10, Thursday evening, Pastor Michael Scott, Temperanceville, Va.

Sept. 11, Friday afternoon, Elder Alvin Moses, Jamaica, N.Y.

Sept. 11, Friday evening, Dr. George Bratcher, Middletown

Sept. 12, Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Leandra Casson, Dover.

Thursday and Saturday evening services will be in Calvary Baptist, Del. 8 West (Forrest Avenue) and Friday evening service and all afternoon services and workshop classes will be held in Union Missionary Baptist Church, 883 Lincoln St., Dover. In addition, the conference includes informative, life-changing workshops for liturgical dance ministries and music ministries, for example. Some of the topics include thought-provoking, well-researched workshops like "African Origins of Christianity" with facilitators Dr. Jahi Issa, the Rev. Leandra Casson and Dr. Ahati Touré, professors at Delaware State University — a must-attend workshop for all who aspire to go deeper in God’s word, extremely important information for proclaimers of God’s word. The conference also features the city of Dover’s only Christian parade — The 3rd Annual Jubilee parade — which starts at 11 a.m. with line-up at 10 a.m. at the Dover Post Office. Each of the participants will pass out school supplies to the spectators. Saturday night will also be a celebration of men in the ministry — concert including such artists as the New Gospel True Light, Calvary Baptist Church’s Mighty Men of Song and the Citywide workshop choir. Additionally, all music ministries are welcomed to be a part of the citywide workshop choir.

For further information regarding registration — workshop, $20; vendor information, $35; and parade, no charge — just register your group. Call 399-8974 or 399-6869.
