If a "Sport Fee" per game were to imposed, should it be a fee proportional to the maintenance costs of that particular activity, or should it be a uniform fee which would have the low-maintenance sports players subsidizing the costs of high-maintenance facilities.? The latter would have the effect of non-golfers subsidizing the golfer's habit thereby making them "enablers". It does cost a great deal more to maintain a golf course than to maintain a tennis or pickleball court.

Good question June. I hope you get a reasonable answer. The silly answer I get is Del Webb set it up that way. Guess what> Del Webb is dead and it is thirty years later. Financial situations change and I thin it is high time we all pay our fair share. If you would like to start a petetion, I would be glad to assist. Hank Shaw

Why no fee for others?

I know my comments are probably not important — a voice of one.

However, I would like you to know how very much I enjoy the golf courses in Sun City West. They are very well maintained and always in better shape than most in the surrounding area. I realize it costs a lot of money to maintain them. I appreciate the efforts of the board and the responsible people who are employed by the golf courses.

Increasing golf fees is a sign of the times and is tough to swallow for some in today’s economy.

My question is, and has been for years, why is there not a fee for pickleball, tennis, lawn bowling and other

sports? Is there, and I do not know about it? If there is a fee for other sports, please let the public know as there are apparently a lot of people in the dark, not just me. The courts on which they play need constant care and re-building.

I hope you will shed a little light on this subject. Thanks for your ear.
