It appears that on June 1st GM will file bankruptcy and the goverment,meaning all tax payers, will be basically stockholders in the company, at least theoretically. The government will never get back the money spent on this company. It was a mistake to every let the government get involved in a private company. It will also be a tragedy if the government forces GM to make cars people won't buy. They need to get out of private businesses and let them solve their own problems. This is not a good trend. Congress needs to lead and stop being led .
