My point Manatee is that it could always have been changed. It was NEVER guaranteed that it couldn't/wouldn't change. If Dell Webb Corp had intended that it never change the original by laws, developed by Dell Webb Corp, would have been written that way.
Walfly, you said it well.

Things change Manatee. We have beautiful courses that draw people here to live.. Those people help keep SCW with all its courses and Rec Centers going.
Get passed the what you were paying when you came here. WE all knew prices would go up throughout the years. What you don't know is how lucky you are to be here, with all of this. The course fees are so much less than what people pay elsewhere. Outside of Chicago and on Long Island and in California, and Florida, $100 a round in some places is like a sale! These courses are beautiful green areas here in the desert. what a wonderful thing! Get past all of this stuff. FInd something positive - FInd a club that offers what you like to do. Then join it! Volunteer here - there are lots of places Del Webb, Hospice, the LIbrary, Helpoing Hands, Prides, Posse, and many more. Start living a positive life now .... I know I am becuase I have little time left and spending time listening to people who have a grudge and carry it on and on, especially here in this beautiful community, is ridiculous! Go find something positive to do.

Wrong Wildfan, The Rec Board changed it after we had been here several years.

Well said Mr. Mott. We do have too many who think they know it all.
Manatee, the rec board didn't welsh on you- your sales person/realtor was less than honest with you. The community cannot be expected to correct that.

For some of us Golf has become a dirty word. We were told we would never have to pay for this expensive pastime unless we played it. Our Rec Board welshed on us. Now the cost of rec cards goes up and up.

Editor’s note: Copied below is a letter to the editor submitted to the Sun City West Independent. You can post your opinions by clicking on "Reply."
Good golf facilities
I have had the good fortune of living and playing golf in Sun City West for more than 14 years.
There isn’t another golfing community in this country that can compare to what we have here — seven beautiful golf courses, as well maintained as most private courses, at a very attractive per round cost no matter how many annual rounds you play. In my case, I play approximately 125 rounds of golf per year which costs me under $20 per round of golf. Try that lineup anywhere in Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia, Texas, California or Arizona.
I am sick and tired of picking up our local papers and seeing another letter to the editor complaining about our golf facilities, our golf management, our city administration and how terribly expensive it is to play golf here. You cannot find a better deal in the country! We have the choice of seven beautiful golf courses and you can’t match my cost of under $20 anywhere.
Our retirement community is filled with "experts" of every stripe. Those whose only experience with growing grass was their front and back yards in Minnesota will rant and rave about our course conditions and how much better they could grow grass in Arizona. Those who never had to meet a payroll will moan about the high golf division administrative costs. These "experts" are without portfolio. Just because their complaints are printed doesn’t make them true or accurate.
Ask any of the many Sun City Grand and Corte Bella residents who take advantage of our courses with the neighborhood play program. They’ll let you know what kind of a super deal we have. Better yet, know the solid majority of our Sun City West golfers support all the elements of our golf program no matter what the vocal minority tries to say.
