Santa Alert! The air traffic control tower at Falcon Field Municipal Airport has reported seeing a blip on the radar screen near the North Pole. It looks like Santa Claus has begun his 3,905-mile journey to The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Arizona Wing Aviation Museum at Falcon Field in Mesa. Santa is scheduled to arrive on Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the CAF Arizona Wing.

Santa and the CAF Arizona Wing are going to help the Mesa Police Officers and East Valley Firefighters Charities collect toys for needy children this Holiday Season during their annual toy drive. Rudolph and the other reindeer on Santa’s team are staying at the North Pole to rest up for their big trip on Christmas Eve. Santa’s visitors can bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Mesa Police Officers and East Valley Firefighters to distribute to needy children throughout the area for the holidays. Santa Claus will also be talking to all the girls and boys who come to the museum, gathering their Christmas wishes and checking his list to make sure they have been good this year.

The CAF Arizona Wing Aviation Museum and the City of Mesa encourage everyone to join the Mesa Police Officers and East Valley Firefighters in making sure needy children have a Merry Christmas this year. On December 13, admission is free for children 12 and under and $10.00 for those 13 and up. Bring a new unwrapped toy and get FREE admission to the Museum. You can also bring in canned food to get $1.00 off museum admission. The CAF Arizona Wing in partnership with Bashas', Perform Air International and Mesa Leadership Training & Development is collecting canned food to benefit the House of Refuge East (HRE) located at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. HRE is a nonprofit organization utilizing former Williams Air Force Base housing to provide temporary homes for low-income families.

The Toy and Food Drive will run from November 28 - December 21 this Holiday Season at the CAF Arizona Wing Aviation Museum.

CAF Arizona Wing Leader Rick Senffner says “This is such a worthwhile cause to support the Mesa Police Officers and East Valley Firefighters efforts to collect toys for needy children and also help the House of Refuge during this Holiday Season”.

Admission includes tours through the B-17 Sentimental Journey and aviation museum. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. with Santa Claus arriving at 11:00 a.m.

The museum’s gift shop also has available exceptional aviation gifts, which can also be purchased on-line at http://www.azcaf.org. For a truly unique gift, you can purchase gift certificate for a ride on the Arizona Wing’s WWII T6 Trainer, C-45 Transport or the B-17 Flying Fortress Sentimental Journey. The CAF Arizona Wing is a nonprofit all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving historic aircraft, artifacts and our history.
