Mychildren, I am the Girls Soccer Coach at Polytech. I have been an advocate of Polytech for years. They have some of the most dedicated staff of teachers I have come to know. I had two children come through the Lake Forest school system, and both graduated from Polytech, one in 1997 and one in 2000. I had two children come through the CR school system, and one graduated from Polytech in 2007 and the other is a junior. The home schools are very college oriented, and Polytech has a reputation for being very trade oriented, but that has changed in the past 10 years. They are becoming more and more a model school for Delaware.
I would like to say thankyou to all the teachers and staff at Polytech. My son is a freshman there and I was worried about him making the choice to go to Poly. I went to the open house and it was wonderful. The teachers are there for the kids. They don't like to see failure. They offer all kinds of tutoring help before and after school. They do care about there students. He left Lake and most of his friends and he has really grown up this school year. I am so proud of him. He tells me that the work is hard, but he can do it. He plays sports and joined clubs and he loves it. I get so many emails from teachers about what is going on it's just wonderful! I know the first marking period is only half way through, but I really wanted to give a wonderful welcome to anyone wanting to go to Poly because my experience has been wonderful so far. I hope he continues to love the school and love going all 4 years he is there!
