I feel sorry for Joe's daughter. He deliberately set her up by putting her in front of the PUSD Governing Board to do his dirty work. In my opinion, that was completely, totally unacceptable, and that was the catalyst of this entire "recall" storm. Joe was in a total hissy fit about his daughter(s) not being "allowed" to leave campus (albeit, Cheyenne would not have been in the mix, anyway, since she was a freshman at the time, and his other daughters [as well as Cheyenne, I suppose] could have left campus at any time had Joe simply signed them all out on a daily basis, if that's the point of Joe's anger in the first place [i.e., Joe wanting to spend time with his daughters, during lunch, off campus).
It's beyond obvious that this has been a total farce and we knew all along that Joe and Preston and the rest of the crew would never have been able to garner the requisite 9000 PLUS signatures to even begin the recall process in the first place, but now it's time for them to cough up the big bucks and understand there are ramifications for ludicrous threats. Had they not intended to follow through with their original intentions [to recall Ms. Knecht], they simply needed to file the requisite paperwork to cancel their recall campaign. As we now know, they have failed to follow the rules, and they should be sanctioned accordingly.

If you’re unable to back up your words with enough valid signatures, or win the election, you pretty much give the person you’re aiming at the right to claim they have the community’s support. And, after winning two elections, they can more than make the case that they do.....

It may be time to close up the silly countdown. I hope I made this somewhat painful and was somewhat irritating for the people who started this, were responsible for, and participated in this whole witch-hunt (and that's exactly what it was). I made my point and got a little satisfaction in the process.
As much as it pains me to say this, because I have never said this in my whole life (and probably never will again), Peoria Dad is probably right. Enough is enough. I think the clincher was the 'Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire' comment by our esteemed teacher, that kind of said to me, maybe it's time to move onto the next thing.

I have very mixed feelings about Joe Bernier....
On the one hand, I am still so very angry at him for causing this whole ordeal in the district and creating this atmosphere of absolute war that I am participating in. After all, was there one thing gained in all of this?
On the other hand, I think Joe is probably a very good man who loves his family to death. I've got to hand it to him for standing up for what he believes in and doing this all by the seat of his pants, however misguided I thought his methods were.
And I think Joe would be fun to have a beer with - maybe I will some day.

Be sure you don't scratch your nose, cross your legs, pull your earlobe or yawn, you'll be accused of telling someone how to vote. And for God's sake, don't wave a book, drop a pen or pass a note, that is such a dead giveaway that you are in cahoots with somebody.

Adam--- great idea, but what's left to "hash out"???? I believe we have beaten this issue to death. Besides, PEORIA DAD has already scolded everyone and put us in time out.
I will say, though, you seem to have been the voice of reason throughout this entire ordeal (and I must also admit that I do enjoy the comments made by "AreYouKiddingMe"--- very clever and insightful!!) Oooooppsssss--- I'm sure that comment just cost me another detention and/or time out from PeoriaDad!! Hopefully I was mindful of closing parentheses this time. This is way too stressful.

I think we should all get together at Tuesday's meeting and wear name badges with our names/usernames on them so we can hash this out face-to-face.
Anyone else with me? I would love to meet everyone in person.

My God, you people really can't stop, can you?
Dadof3 points fingers at Integrity and teacher (whose comments were clearly tongue-in-cheek), Tenretni wants to piss all over Joe and his kids again (not to mention take another cheap shot at Teacher), and Integrity feels compelled to explain herself. And then there's AREYOUwhoever, whose only goal in life appears to be pissing people off.
You are a collective disgrace to this community.
I'm done. Enjoy making fools of yourselves.

This is all too funny. Everyone is actually commenting on the lack of maturity in others. This is a lot like the pot calling the kettle black.
tenretni, you are a bit over the top with your assumptions. (There is that word again!) The only thing I have ever said about where I sit at the board meetings is that I don't sit in any particular spot. "BFF" must be a female term and that is why I never heard of it I don't spend a lot of time gossiping with females. And although I admit I am a female, I grew up a bit of a tomboy, and I do have female friends, I stopped hanging out after high school. Plus, the female friends I do have do not hang out at board meetings. In fact if I were to think of anyone as my best friend for life it would be my husband not a female friend!
Oh, and by the way...did you forget to close the parentheses to irritate me again?

Teacher, Teacher, I declare-- you just seem to get more and more hostile as the clock (tick, tick, tick) counts down.
Peoria Dad---- Nope, I have no intention of "duking it out" with Integrity at the Board meeting on Tuesday, and I'm sorry if my comments implied otherwise. However, I do agree with you, Dad, that emotions seem to be spiraling out of control, which is why I suggested this issue be put to rest in the first place. By the way, where is Joe? Didn't Joe and his daughters orchestrate this recall effort in the first place (or was that Preston, acting on Joe's behalf, and taking his marching orders from Joe?)

| Thanks other Dad. When Integrity added in her "HA!", I figured some people were teetering on the edge, but when Teacher threw in "Liar liar pants on fire", I began to doubt the maturity or is that sanity of someone who is teaching somebody's children, hopefully not any of mine.

OK, I realize that I've posted my share of "poke in the eye" comments on these forums, but man, ALL of you have crossed the line here over the last few days.
Are tenretin and integrity going to duke it out at Tuesday's school board meeting? What's the second fight on the card, RUkidding... and Teacher? You all need to take a cold shower and let each other be.
Seriously folks, you are all looking, sounding and acting like junior high jackasses. Put it to rest.

Integrity - maybe it was PUSD Teacher who said Cheyenne's comments were thoughtful and respectful. I don't know - I get the two of you mixed up because you are both making the same useless arguments. I'm quite sure, though, that in one of the links, you said you were seated on the sidelines, and that's how I figured out who you are. Believe me, I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but it doesn't take too much to put it all together --- you just need to pay attention.
(BTW [that would be "By the way"], "BFF" is an acronym for your "best friend forever"--- remember her? the one you pal around with? I'll re-introduce you to one another just in case you forgot who [or where] your friends are. And, just to really irritate you, I left the parentheses open. Childish, I know, but I figured you'd forgive me this minor nuance. And, last but not least, I realize it's a "board room," ----- jeeeeezzzzzzz--- you just can't give a kid a break, can you?

Smell the coffee, read the writing on the wall, you all need to go away now. In fifteen days, the public will have spoken loud and clear.
I am surpised that you didn't catch your spelling mistake! (apathetic) Perhaps it is due to your being over zealous regarding this subject. What is also surprising is your assumption that if they are unable to garner enough signature it somehow equates to people wanting Kathy Knecht on the board when in truth is most likely is due to people not having enough time to run around getting signatures for the recall petition.
Here is one example in case you have forgotten...

I gave my friend Integrity a saying that I'm sure she appreciated. Here's one for my teacher friend. You don't need to thank me - knowing I made someone's Sunday is thanks enough.
Thomas Jefferson:
Take care that you never spell a word wrong. Always before you write a word, consider how it is spelled, and, if you do not remember, turn to a dictionary. It produces great praise to a lady to spell well.

Well--- at least we understand your motives. Shame, shame, tsk, tsk. If you truly had "integrity," you would look deep into your own heart, and your own motives, and take the wool off your eyes, and realize what's really going on in the PUSD. Of course, that's just not going to happen because you refuse to face reality. However, now that your other pal (name withheld, but - hint, hint, he was the guy in charge) is long gone, I believe the only reason you continue to participate is to spit more venom and stir up more trouble (and, by the way, if you really believe Cheyenne's comments were "thoughtful and respectful," then we really need to put this issue to rest because there is no way you could ever convince me that Cheyenne's comments were anything other than hateful, hurtful, threatening, and disrespectful. Period. All in the pursuit of a flippin' taco.
I'll be sure to say "HI" to you, "Integrity", at the next Board meeting--- I know who you are, and then you'll know who I am. This should be fun. See you on Tuesday.
Actually I have never said where I sit when I go. And for the record when I go I don't sit in any particular area. Also, for the record it isn't an auditorium, it is a board room. You certainly have an active imagination because I have no clue what or who you are referring to. What is a bff? Are you really that nuts or are you just pretending? Lets see, you apparently attend board meetings to spy, so you assume everyone else there is spying? You credit me with an awful lot of power, and with statements I have never made. I don't think I have ever said that Cheyenne's comments were thoughtful and respectful. And if you are going to use open parenthesis then please close them. By the way, you sound an awful lot like Paula Cohen who is forever trying to figure out who is who. Also who is the we as in "we understand your motives?" Do you have a mouse in your pocket? And in case you haven't been paying attention, I don't consider myself having any "pals" in PUSD. (That particular statement is too funny!) Apparently you haven't picked up on that thread...which if you are Paula that would be nothing new. I was going to miss this board meeting because I have plans. However, I too am looking forward now to this board meeting. I will be sure to look for you....I will be the one wearing a hot pink shirt...just for you!

Nice spin AYKM. Lousy answers, but nice spin. You still haven't answered the last question: Don’t you think we should hold our elected officials to a higher standard of conduct than that of a 14-year-old?
Now, I'll answer your questions, as weak as they are. Nothing Ms. Knecht did would cost me my job. However, if I conducted myself in the same manner toward one of my students as she did toward Ms. Bernier, I can assure you I would have been fired. It's called a code of conduct, and all teachers are expected to adhere to it. Behavior like Ms. Knecht's is a violation of that code. Violate the code severely enough (and I can assure you, conduct like hers would be considered extremely severe), and you get fired.
My answer to your other question is no. Unless and until you can prove yourself to be perfect (an awful lot of editing goes on with your comments AYKM), then it’s probably best that you not throw stones. That’s good advice, especially when you consider the fact that you have a habit of posting incomplete sentences (yes, many of us are able to read your gibberish before you edit it).
Now, spin away, because it’s the only thing you have.
And Dad, who cares what reporter I sat next to? The fact is, I did, and I was able to read their notes over her shoulder, and to see the signals for myself. But to keep you happy, it was the first meeting in March, and I was sitting along the wall on the east side of the room. Perhaps you should show up at a meeting and see it for yourself. Like I said, it’s very entertaining.

Integrity-- now we understand WHY you sit on the sidelines at the board meetings rather than with the masses. I have seen you sitting on the the side-clyde, and never quite understood why you would choose to sit there, rather than sit with your bff (name withheld) who sits on the other side of the auditorium, but now it's clear that you're there, on the "right" side, to do the spying.

Youareajoke, I would say you are the perfect person to offend people. How you put it to the test. How about at the next board meeting you address Kathy Knecht and ask her how she feels about the recall. Ask her how it feels for a board member to so offend and inflame students that they actually were the ones to start a recall. Ask her how it feels to not even be in office for a year and be so disliked by the students she claims to serve that they want to get rid of her. Hey, I am sure you can find words to inflame and offend her. I challenge you to get Kathy Knecht to lose her temper with you. I bet you can't do it, because I bet she isn't brave enough to talk that way to an adult. And do you know what that makes Kathy Knecht? It makes her a bully! HA!!!
There you do with that very hurtful name again,,,,,,
I am frankly honored that you picked me to take on this task,,,,But if I asked Kathy how she felt about the recall, wouldn't she say something very positive like: "I am gratified the public has shown they have confidence in what I'm doing here and I'm glad to see the sheep didn't pull the wool over everyone's eyes. I feel like I've won the election twice...."
Being the boss sometimes means you make decisions that people don't like. Being a board member is not a popularity contest, as many in the flock believe it is. And I guess we're finding out my dog (or Preston, which one has more intelligence) can start a recall (scratch his right ear means go get the recall petition, by the way), it takes support to complete and there obviously is not the support to complete it or they would have done it.
And, Integrity, I am going to leave you with this - I hope you enjoy and savor it:
Yesterday is the past Tomorrow is the future, Today is the gift.....that's why it's called the present.

Only 78.375 more hours
and Kathy Knecht's term in office will be fully validated. If you’re unable to back up your words with enough valid signatures, or win the election, you pretty much give the person you’re aiming at the right to claim they have the community’s support. And, after winning two elections, they can more than make the case that they do It's been a wonderful ride, hasn't it, and we have almost reached the promised land!!! I won't know if I should fiesta or siesta when this is all finally put to bed!!!Last edited on Sun Apr 6th, 2008 06:06 pm by AREYOUKIDDING ME

How about it is whatever you want it to mean? Because ultimately that is what it will end up being.
