I am doing fine, thanks for asking and caring. This may be hard for you to understand and comprehend, but I have been living my life and not sitting in front of a computer wasting my day trying to get a rise out of other people.
You should try it sometime....get a life!

Sorry but thats a load of garbage. Whether I vote at all or for/against a given person is irrelevant. They still work for us, we are still constitutents and most of us pay taxes. Taking that as a given, we constituents expect our elected officials to do their jobs and do them well.
Now, are they always going to do what we like? No. But by the same token, they're human and do dumb things-- just as many of us do. Launching a recall every other week is pointless. If they do some really bad things, sure launch a recall. But complaining about a management style is a petty reason. If that were the case, there are plenty of our state and federal folks that should be recalled.

I get a kick seeing how brave people get when they are behind closed doors of their homes and sitting on their butts behind their computers. When there in no chance of personal reaction, as in a face to face conversation, it amazes me the courage people think they have.
Calling me a coward because I voice my opinions regarding our lack luster city council is very brave of you Roger. I bet you are honcho number one in your very own chat room.
You should be proud!

Carlo Leone appears to be the only elected official that understands he is there for the people. This is why Bob Barrett has criticized Mr. Leone for not being a team player, Bob's "strong Management style" he professes the city lives by. So much for caring about the public's needs.
your right uncle. if the above is reason for a recall, we should excersice our right and have the clowns committed. they need to get a life and move on and put of peoria

I'd like to hear the rationale for the recall as well.
FYI--- http://www.hwhls.com/
The rationale on the site seems pretty flimsy to me. So they did a few questionable things (city logo).
Geez, its seems like every time I turn around some disgrunted voter is looking to launch a recall. Getting rediculous.

So basically in your world, we should sit back and keep our mouths shut and our opinions to ourselves and not question any of our elected officials, unless we are willing to run for office.
I am glad I do not live in your world, as I have high expectations for my elected officials. When they do not keep their campaign promises our start serving their own interests then we as voters have every right to question their actions and motives.

I see that the committee to recall Vicki Hunt has turned in more than enough signatures to start the recall process. With any luck the Committee that is recalling Bob Barrett will also be successful in obtaining enough signatures to start the recall process of our free spending mayor. The bonus that comes with recalling Bob Barrett is that if he is recalled, Cathy Carlat will also go as she has her head so far up Bob Barrett's rear end that she hasn't taken a breath of fresh air since he took office.

| why don't you just get the courage and make the sacrifice that these two have and many others and run yourself? to easy just to sit back and do nothing but put others down to make yourself feel better.

| Although I agree we could have picked a better choice for mayor and certain council members, I don't think being an arrogant a** is grounds for a recall. You recall folks are just going to have to bite the bullet and wait until the next election to remove Mr. B. Hopefully, at that time his acolyte Carlat will also be shown the door.

| Tell me Mr. Hack, why are you trying to recall the mayor??? It would be helpful to know what your position is other than the mayor's views aren't consistent with yours. Hopefully, it has nothing to do with lunch..... Last edited on Thu May 1st, 2008 04:14 pm by AREYOUKIDDING ME

Good afternoon. I would be interested in your views on why there should be a recall. I admittedly haven't been following local politics as I should so I would be very interested in being brought up to date.

On March 31, 2008, I filed with the city clerk, petition to recall City of Peoria mayor Bob Barrett. I need help in getting signatures. If you are willing to help, please contact me at recallpeoriamayorbobbarrett@cox.net
My name is Helmuth Hack, chairman for the organization "Voice for the people" to recall the mayor.
Citizens have many challenges ahead of them, thanks to staff and elected officials, namely, Barrett, Carlat and Hunt. It appears they have their own agenda, inconsistent with the desires of residents footing the bills.
