As reported in Thursday edition of the Arizona Republic - 16 year old kidnapped by 7 men, 6 of which were being held without bail as they are suspected of being in this country illegally.

25 year old Phoenix police officer, Shane Figueroa was run down and killed by a drunk driver. A driver who is in the country illegally, had 4 outstanding warrants, been deported 4 times and returned each time.

Officer Figueroa leaves behind a wife and a 3 month old baby.

Every single member of Arizona that holds elected office from Janet Napolitano to John McCain, John Kyl, Rick Renzi, Trent Franks, John Shadagg, Ed Pastor, Harry Mitchell, Jeff Flake, Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords should have to go, in person, and personally apologize to the widow and the parents of officer Figueroa for their unwillingness to do anything to curb and stop illegal immigration.

How many more innocent people have to die at the hands of people who are this country illegally before the very people we elect to protect us do the right thing?

Over 2 years of presidential campaigning and illegal immigration isn't even being discussed or touched on.

If the economy isn't reason enough not to re-elect any of our elected officials in Arizona then the killing of innocent people by illegal immigrants should be. It is time to end this foolishness and get rid of people that are in the country illegally.

In the eyes of our Government, both local and Federal, the deaths of innocent citizens is the cost of doing business, as in Collateral damage.

Illegal immigrants bring cheap labor costs to business owners, and as long as there is money to be made from cheap, uneducated immigrants and the rich keep getting richer, who really cares if a couple of innocent citizens get killed in the process?

Besides all of that, if we were to rid the country of illegal immigrants, that would mean we would have to do our own housecleaning, mow our own lawns and wash our own cars. Can you imagine that? Get Real

420 - A very profound statement, but you may be onto something.

Perhaps a wakeup call where people would be forced to mow their own yards or wash their own cars or god forbid clean their own houses or it could be the death of a mom or dad, brother or sister, or a best friend.

The unfortunate and puzzling part is why does it take a tragic event like the death of a high school student to wake people up and force them to take notice?

Oh wait, nobody has taken notice because of a dead teenager.....There lays the problem.

I just saw that Obama is thinking of naming Janet Napolitano Secretary of Homeland Security.

This woman cannot secure Arizona's borders from illegal aliens, how does she expect to make this country secure?

Sheriff Joe is more qualified to carry out the position of Secretary of Homeland Security. At least he backs up his words with action, and because of it he gets re-elected.

No wonder guns and ammo are flying off the shelves.

Another person in this country illegally driving under the influence, another 16 year old child dead!

How many more innocent people have to die before our elected officials figure out that human life is more important than than the Hispanic vote? After all isn't that the reason the keep turning a blind eye to the illegal immigration epidemic, the fear of losing votes?

Go Sheriff Joe, round 'em up and throw 'em out!

Yes, because everyone who comes into America illegally is just a gang banging murdering plague. Good observation
I'm not sure you would feel the same way if one of them stole your identity to illegally obtain a job.  (their second felony after entering the country illegally) I don't know how old you are kiddie, but until you've had your a$$ burned by one of them, you'll keep your head in the sand and think all they want to do is to bus your tables at restaurants and mow your grass.

No, just your typical drunk who had been caught and deported on four separate occasions and had 4 outstanding warrants.

Now a 3 month old son is without his father and a 24 year old wife is without her husband.

Kiddie, let me ask you something. Who decides which laws are ok to enforce? What about the priority of the laws? Don't federal laws trump everything else? Why selective law enforcement?

I can only hope that the next innocent person to die at the hands of someone who is in this country illegally isn't your Mom, Dad, Sister or Brother.

Go Sheriff Joe!!

No Mood...You are assuming these political hypocrites we have governing our state, from the governor on down, has a conscience.

Today, you are not qualified to run for any office if you possess a conscience.

Sad, but true.

I feel for the 3 month old baby and the new mom that will now be without a father and a husband because Arizona government refuses to do what is right. Even if it is mandated in the Constitution of the United States, but then again, that in itself has been treated like toilet paper lately.
