Does it really matter where or who a good idea or two comes from?  What's the harm in publishing these ideas and have our legislators and community respond. It seems to me that if there is a way not to take an axe to education spending, we should spend time exploring it.  This guy seems to be the only one who has offered any ideas in this direction.  Finally, this post seems to me to be well researched.  Do you have any evidence that it is not? I do not see the harm in opening this discussion, and perhaps its time you open your mind.

They already do...it's called "Letters to the editor". Like a "BLOG" it is the opinion of the writer and not neccessilry based on fact, which is what your beloved "Nohoneymoon" is...an opinion!

BLOG -  an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a web page. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author.

Editorial - an article in a newspaper or other periodical presenting the opinion of the publisher, editor, or editors.

Just who is Harper representing at the legislature?  The people, or the companies that line his pockets?

Every elected state representative that was up for re-election last November was re-elected, including Harper. We cannot change the way this state business if we keep re-electing the same people.

If you truly want things to change...you have to start at the top!

A lot of teachers are out there looking for some help.  If these aren't the best solutions, at least it's a place to start a discussion:  http://nohoneymoon.blogspot.com

As parents we need to make sure we contact our state legislators now, and make sure they begin to take a look at at least a couple of these ideas. I particularly like the suspension (not elimination!) of the Tax Credit, because I agree that if the state can't meet it's constitutional obligation to fund public schools, then it has no business doling out taxpayer money to private schools.  Here's a copy of a list of our local legislators someone posted before:

Tom Boone, 602-926-3297
FAX 602-417-3006

Judy Burges, 602-926-5861
FAX 602-417-3104

Debbie Lesko, 602-926-5413

Rick Murphy, 602-926-3255

Doug Quelland, 602-926-3024
FAX 602-417-3110

Jim Weiers, 602-926-4173
FAX 602-417-3153

Jack Harper, 602-926-4178

These seem to be good, commonsense solutions.  I hope there is a legislator out there listening.
