I think we're both right houndmom.  I think (this changes quite often) the intent is to open the school to the freshmen class only this school year, then the rest will follow the 2009 school year.  That's what we were told by the last super.  The new one still has failed to contact us.  I called them when they first decided to build it out here and requested a closed campus.  They agreed.  What has transpired since then, I have no idea.

Gary road will be overttaxed with vehicles.  Today, just with the construction traffic and resident traffic, it is a dust bowl and a congested area.  I hope the County has thought this through enough, to lookout for the welfare of it's residents out there.  If too much dust is generated, they will be turned into the EPA.  Even if a Developer is responsible to pave it, the County needs to oversee that it gets done on a timely basis....something they have a sad history of not doing....timely.

I hope part of the roads project includes finishing Magma Road. Having all those inexperienced drivers with only one ingress and egress from the school site is surely going to tax the chip seal roads between WalMart and the School. Will it be a closed campus? It's also a less than perfect traffic flow for the many ranchettes with livestock. I sure hope nobody gets hurt...

Regards,

Anne

To clarify, this high school and the new Combs High School are not slated to open until the Fall of 2009.  Typically high schools take 18 months to build. The Coolidge High School will be 160,800 s.f. and capacity for 1436 students.

I am holding an Incorporation meeting at my home this Saturday, at 8:30 a.m..  I'll have coffee and munchies.  Bring your kids if you want.  Kids are always welcome to grandma B.'s home (me).  I have swing sets; basketball court; bikes, etc, all on 3.5 acres.   Many have said they will be attending.  I am inviting all residents in our area to attend, whether you want a city or not.  It's an organizational meeting where assignments will be discussed and handed out, to be brought back to the next meeting.

We will probably have these meeting every week, as we have to keep the "home fires" burning to  keep up the momentum....otherwise we falter.

Please show up and be prepared to be inspired, and to meet your neighbors.:)
