I'm sorry Gene. I thought you said that as a teacher I do not know my history.... what do you call that?
I am not against Israel or Jews or progressive Muslims. My grandmother was a Jew, so I guess that makes me eligible to become an Israelite? I am not against the Palenstines either. I am against Terrorsim, no matter who it comes from. SO when Israel defends itself, and I say it should, it is not because of them being Jewish or zionist or whatever. It is because the terroist say they should not exist and will continue to do what they can to remove it from the face of the earth. Yesterday Israel called a Truce. Immediately after the truce time was up, it was Hamas sending missles over, not Israel. But Israel returned the fire and now here we go again. Returning the fire is a defence. All Israeliste are citizens of their Country and must defend and protect all. All Hamas citizens in Gaza are defending their Country and must protect all. The difference is that Hamas believes in Terrorism and practices radical Islam and fails to train their citizens as Israel does, for battles. Their value on life is different. They choose to die for Islam as radicals and will sacrifice their families for this belief. Israel chooses to defend life, their State and their families imo.
As more progressive Arabs assimilate into the government as they are doing, then we will see change. As long as they don't bring in their radical Isamic beliefs, they can work with the Jews. As long as the Zionist hold on to their radical beliefs, there will be no peace. And no, I am not a zionist and don't believe in their movement. One of the reasons America started treating Israel well is because of their proximity in the middleeast, not because of the Jewish Faith. That "protectionist" attitude came later.
Neither of us are experts on this. The point of this is to express our feelings and opinion about it. That's what I'm doing. I am not adhering to any doctrine nor do I care about any scripture. So let's get off religious philosophies and stick to the political issues of this democratic nation.
We need Peace between the two factions, but as long as religion interferes, peace will be hard to reach. It must become secular imo, to thrive as a democracy.

Mid Eastern people have been fighting since the dawn of time. They will continue fighting until the end of time. That is the way they are raised-they will not change. How are we supposed to know what they are even fighting about since it has been continuing for years-pre Bible possibly before any known writting? I bet they don't even know what really started it. Innocent children have been killed on multiple sides-very sad.

In the recent genocide over 600 Palestinians were murdered and only 5 Israelis were killed. four of the Israelis were killed by friendly fire. That means over 500 Palestinians to I Israeli. And this is self defense???

Come on Gene. You're making assumptions when you talk about "how we feel".
Bottom Line: That's why we separate Church and State. Religion dictating the policy will only cause this type of deadly behavior.
The radicals are running the show in Gaza. The "Zionist" are not running Israels show. Not all Israelis are Jews.
Here's How I see it and my opinon.
History tells us that Religious armies of ancient times, entered the enemies camps and towns to destroy all living souls...mothers and children included. This is happening even now, as a part of current warfare where they still adhere to ancient beliefs without reformation. Hamas sees Israel as Jewish mainly, thus they, Israel, have no right to exist. So Hamas is also indiscriminately killing innocent (non-Jewish) souls by attempting to wipe Israel off the face of the earth with their constant barages of rockets. Israel must defend itself imo.

The rockets are not right, but a far greater injustice is Israels confinement of the Palestinians into the most populated strip of land on the earth. The closing of their borders, the blockades of food, water and medicine that has been going on for a long time. The wholesale extermination of the children that Israel is intent with.
Compare the number of Dead Israeli's against the Palestinians. This is much more than self defense. How would you respond if you were not a member of Hamas and your country did this to Arizona? Sit back and take it?
Israel and Mossad could very easily take out the leaders of Hamas without invading and the killing of little children.
America funds Israel so we all are responsible for their acts, and there is NO justification at all for murdering so many children.
Continuing to listen to our lame stream media, who spew the same lies that Israel tells will NOT tell you the truth, you have to find it for yourself.
My conscience will not let me go if I do not try to tell the truth about the Zionists. The true Jews see this as an abomination to G*D also

20 rockets a day was a slow day. I think I recall that on one day there were over 200 rockets into Isreal. might be mistaken though. However many, it is not right.

You're right 2 cents. 20 rockets a day over to Israel and destroying their infrastructure and lives is motivation to respond in my opinion. But, the entire area is wrong to be bombing one another. Hamas has said that it is God who says Israel must not exist, not man, so peace treaties mean nothing to them. They must fulfill God's orders to remove Israel from the face of the earth......Iran says the same thing.
