Just politics taking a cut. He had to knowing he was going to shutter a lot of workers and freeze wages etc.

Rainy day fund could have been much bigger .

We have less services then other cities for the same tax $ and same population.

Nurse Elliott, you are right, the rainy day fund could have been bigger - if not for YOU! How much are you up to by now? You had already cost them $70,000 by 2006 and you've been a very busy boy since then.

Not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy (except to you).

Elliot,

Our city has a rainy day fund something that many other cities didn't plan for..

We have a city manager that stepped up and took a $10,000.00 personal cut before the manure really hit the oscillator..

That says a lot right there..

I would say every budget has fat that can be trimmed but all things considered I feel our city has done a pretty good job with the budget when compared to others..

Are we perfect no but  look at what other cities are faced with..

It seems to me they get paid to listen and get benefits as well . Health Insurance for the delicate ear canals. What a bunch of whiners!

We are supposed to feel sorry for these spend thrift budget busting morons?

Elliot the people on this forum are way smarter than you give them credit for..

They turned the cameras off for AJ's CTTP because the podium has been used as a battering ram on our elected officials and city staff.

The hand full people who've created constant disturbances at our council meetings, verbally bashed city council and grandstanded for their campaign should have been thrown out on their keisters long ago..no other city council would have been so tolerant

You're not fooling anyone here Elliot ..

The Internet can be a great tool for community involvement in local government but it can also be the easy way out. The people who really care and who want to work the issues will get up off the couch and go to the meetings and contribute in person. The process got along fine for a few hundred years without cameras and internet.

The AJ Council has discontinued televising call to the public for supposed inappropriate use . No legal basis just was done for political retribution.

They did not like candidates exposing dirt. I think this was bad decision likely to backfire.

do you have link to add'tl info on that.  it sure doesn't sound right on the surface.  i am a huge proponent of open and transparent gov't, this sounds as though it would fly in the face of that.
