i would love to share some anecdotes with you about our experience and please feel free to send me a note to my Town email so that i can get you some real detailed numbers.  we have contacts and can tell you our costs.  we also track and have good data on how many people hit the streaming.

That's a neat idea..

Thanks for the reply Bryan.

You might also want to get with someone in AJ (Pat Brenner??) to get info on their setup.

Joe,

Great question and a nice break from the other topic of the day.

We currently don't have the ability to broadcast our meetings.  I have asked our staff to look at a cost analysis of making both our BOS chamber and P&Z chamber camera capable.  Unfortuntely, it looks like it might be a few months as the costs may prohibit the endeavor.

I agree 100% that we need to do all we can to get the word out about all we work on.

Sincerely,

Bryan

Mr. Martyn,
Does the county videotape it's BoS meetings, P&Z meetings, etc.?

If so.... is it possible to get them in the rotation to be aired on Gov Access cable? (For me, that would be Mediacom in AJ - channel 11)

In a county of nearly 6,000 square miles, it's tough for most of the citizens to make it to Florence for a meeting. Especially if they have no pending business, but just want to stay informed.

I'll look at the county's web site....just thought I'd throw that out here for discussion in the meantime.

Thanks!

Joe in AJ
