I would imagine it's going to take quite some time for everything to get updated in the systems.  That's why there's a year grace period.  As long as you have the correct zip code when you're shipping, it shouldn't matter.

Although, I'm pretty sure that since 85142 is being shared with Queen Creek, San Tan Valley will not be an option to pick.  I think only the other 2 zip codes (don't know the numbers) will be listed as San Tan Valley.  85142 will remain Queen Creek, as far as the postal service is concerned.

That's my understanding, anyway.

Any idea when San Tan Valley becomes an option to use? I thought it was the 1st of July but USPS doesn't recognize it as an acceptable alternative to Queen Creek yet.

You don't live in a 'place' til the USGS says so!

ZIP CODE.

Thats true with some mail but some places that verify your address with usps won't ship to you unless you put the city that matches your zip.

1) Chandler Heights has been acceptable for MANY years.  i don't even know how long, but a long time.

2) Bashas is in Town of Queen Creek.

3) West of Bashas (at Chandler Hgts Rd) is Seville subdivision.

Years ago, Town of QC had "dibs" on the area west of Power Rd all the way to Recker Rd.

when Seville was being planned, the builders wanted their subdivision to be in ONE city/town.  they didn't want half of the homes to be in Town of Gilbert and the other half in Town of QC.

so an agreement was reached between Town of Gilbert and TOQC where we allowed Gilbert to annex just west of Bashas... leaving the commercial within TOQC limits.  also as part of the agreement, TOQC got a portion of impact fees and other revenues that Gilbert got for each of those rooftops.

looking at this map...  http://www.queencreek.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=4976  you can see that the green is Town of Queen Creek

those lighter yellow areas are within our "Planning Area" and may or may not ever annex into the Town.

QC's website shows the are between Riggs and Hunt Hwy and Ellsworth and to the west as Unincorporated Maricopa. I assume one day it will be QC though because it shows the road 'Sossaman' as being QC.

I don't know if Basha's is within QC limits or not.  Should be pretty easy to find out, though.

A friend of ours lives in the big subdivision on Riggs rd between Power and Higley (for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it).  I know that area is considered Chandler Heights.  He's lived there for almost 5 years and has always said that he lives in Chandler Heights.  Basically, he lives in the subdivision behind the Basha's.

When I searched it, chandler heights comes up just west of Ellsworth on Hunt Hwy, so it must be a pretty large area. Is that area by Basha's within QC's boundaries?

I have no idea--for at least the last 5 years or so.  That's when we moved here, and he moved at the same time.  Before he moved, when we were looking for houses, he had told us he's was building in Chandler Heights.  So it's not something new.

And the name of the subdivision is Seville.

How long has it been that way?

If USPS.com accepts it then I'm pretty sure anyone would. What they say goes. I wonder how long I had 2 names to choose from and didn't even know... :D

I went on USPS.com and searched the new zip code '85142' and it now comes up in the system but 'San Tan Valley' does not. Come to find out 'Chandler Heights' is an acceptable name though. How long has it been that way? I put in my address with Chandler Heights and it takes it. So, Chandler Heights is option for one of the names I can use on my mailing? What area was meant to be 'Chandler Heights'?
