ADOT is holding a meeting on the Williams Gateway Freeway routes.  This is a big deal to our town.  I would encourage everyone to attend and give their input.  I think Route 3 is the best for our town, since it comes closest, but it appears to be the least favored of the 4 potential routes.  I need to think about this though, because route 4 would alleviate hunt highway corridor traffic.  More than anything, tell ADOT to move up the construction date to yesterday.

Taken from the 5/2/08 town manager update:

ADOT, FHWA to hold open house for Williams Gateway Freeway on May 13
Representatives from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), as well as their consulting team for the State Route 802 Williams Gateway Freeway Project, will be hosting an open house at the ASU Polytechnic Campus on Tuesday, May 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Representatives will be available to provide information, answer questions, and discuss the project with the community. The public open house purpose is to get public input on initial corridor alternatives that the study team has identified. The comments received will be used to develop final alternatives. A presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a question and answer session.
