Senate point man on ethics. Obama is known
unquestionable ethics and integrity.
http://www.barackobama.com over for positions ...
Now you want to know about Alan Keys. Fine man and very intelligent, with experience to back it up. Keyes has a PhD from Harvard. He and his wife Jocelyn, whom he met while serving in the State Department in India, have three children. He's a former diplomat and Ambassador to the United Nations. He served in the Reagan Administration, and calls the former president a mentor.
Too bad he lost to Barack in the Illinios senate race in 2004, Keyes raised some eyebrows when he came out in favor of giving descendants of black slaves an exemption from federal income tax. Click and read up on that. That caused him some problems. His ultimate objective is to remove the income tax....that should make you happy.
He considers himself part of the moral right of the Republican Party. He opposes abortion, Affirmative Action, and gay rights.
Now he may be an educated man, with eloquent speech, but his core beliefs are not the same as mine. That's what is wrong with Alan Keys. Too hard core. Some called him a little Hitler.

Not much difference. My cousin associated with people of the same characters as Obama. Yet he turned out to be a wonderful god fearing public servant for the people. You can meet and greet them (those of a different ilk) and talk to them without being them. If you have the strong character to know the difference between right and wrong, then you won't become a part of their mentality. It will be your objective, just like on here, to talk to them with the idea of converting them to your side of the argument. You can't do that by belittling them, or bombing them, or cursing them or? There are ways and means to bring people over to your type of thinking, other than threats of war.
Why would you think that Obama would want to destroy this nation? I see no reason he would sacrifice his family's welfare for some radical belief. What more do your want from him? He wore an American pin on his lapel during all three debates with McCain....yet McCain never wore a flag pin on his lapel during the debates. Does that make McCain unAmerican, as they were stating Obama was when he didn't wear one.
I would argue that you are on a witch hunt, and will never be satisified with Obama. If you allow that type of thinking to reign in your mind, then you will be a very unhappy camper and will always be looking for fault. I don't know what you really do for a living, but I would bet that you will benefit from his plans to revive this nation, and be a better person because of it.

You are a constant criticizer, now criticizing who my cousin hung out with too? Coming after me and business wasn't satisfying enough for you? Is this all you have to offer?
I was talking about Obama not your cousin.
I know, we are just supposed to sweep the associations, the toasts to the Palestinian Terrorists under the rug. We are not supposed to ask questions about the millions of dollars in contributions to Obama from unnamed sources. If you don't, you are a racist and just "not ready for a black President".
We are just supposed to "drink the Kook-aid and Shut Up!".
Obama and Khalidi closely tied
Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel. He has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.
During documented speeches and public events, Khalidi has called Israel an "apartheid system in creation" and a destructive "racist" state. He has multiple times expressed support for Palestinian terror, calling suicide bombings a response to "Israeli aggression."
He dedicated his 1986 book, "Under Siege," to "those who gave their lives ... in defense of the cause of Palestine and independence of Lebanon." Critics assailed the book as excusing Palestinian terrorism.
While McCain's known association with Khalidi apparently is limited to helping fund the CPRC, Obama has close ties to the professor.
According to a professor at the University of Chicago who said he has known Obama for 12 years, the Democratic presidential hopeful first befriended Khalidi when the two worked together at the university. The professor spoke on condition of anonymity. Khalidi lectured at the University of Chicago until 2003, while Obama taught law there from 1993 until his election to the Senate in 2004.
Khalidi in 2000 held what was described as a successful fundraiser for Obama's failed bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, a fact not denied by Khalidi.
Speaking in an interview with John Batchelor radio show, Khalidi was asked about his 2000 fundraiser for Obama.
"I was just doing my duties as a Chicago resident to help my local politician," Khalidi stated.
Khalidi said he supports Obama for president "because he is the only candidate who has expressed sympathy for the Palestinian cause."
Khalidi also lauded Obama for "saying he supports talks with Iran. If the U.S. can talk with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, there is no reason it can't talk with the Iranians."
In 2001 and 2002 the Woods Fund provided the grants to Khalidi's wife's anti-Israel group.
Obama borrowed phrase from Khalidi?
In his piece, "Palestine: Liberation Deferred," Khalidi suggests Israel carried out "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians; writes Western powers backed Israel's establishment due to guilt of the Holocaust; laments the Palestinian Authority's stated acceptance of a Palestinian state "only" in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and eastern sections of Jerusalem; and argues Israel should be dissolved and instead a bi-national, cantonal system should be set up in which Jews and Arabs reside.

Sorry, but if I was still teaching school, I would say you did not do your homework, or possibly didn't understand it. You are critical of others posts but have nothing to offer in contrast or explanation. Kind of like going to the fair and taking shots at the moving obstacles, hoping to hit one and walk away with the grand prize.
Now the purpose of this forum is to discuss policies and issues and try to convince others thru logical discourse, to come over to your side. I am still waiting to see you enter this forum with that in mind, instead of just poking insults and jabs at posters and what they post. Please come up with something better than that, or I'll just have to ignore your responses that include what I have just posted. Something relevant to the the forums thread.
By the way, Mr. Khalidi was given a grant by John McCain a few years ago. The money he was given amounted to $500,000. I guess that means they hung out to gether and collaberated on the PLO? Do your homework.

Obama's prime-time ad skips over budget realities
By CALVIN WOODWARD, Associated Press Writer Calvin Woodward, Associated Press Writer – Wed Oct 29, 9:18 pm ET Featured Topics:
WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.
Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn't tell them:
THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year."
THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.
THE SPIN: "I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care."
THE FACTS: That belief should not be confused with a guarantee of health coverage for all. He makes no such promise. Obama hinted as much in the ad when he said about the problem of the uninsured: "I want to start doing something about it." He would mandate coverage for children but not adults. His program is aimed at making insurance more affordable by offering the choice of government-subsidized coverage similar to that in a plan for federal employees and other steps, including requiring larger employers to share costs of insuring workers.
THE SPIN: "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost."
THE FACTS: Independent analysts say both Obama and Republican John McCain would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama's policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: "Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years." The analysis goes on to say: "Neither candidate's plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified."

I can only personally say that the 30 minutes on National Tv. was well spent. I was inspired and moved as he showed the struggles of the average American, then listed what he wants to do for us. It showed a young leader, fully armed with intelligence and understanding of the American plight, coupled with the sound judgment it takes to solve problems and implement programs needed for our Country's sustainability.
All McCain was able to do was play defense once again, not offering anything substantive. Then MSNBC showed clips of Joe the Plumber, stating in agreement with a ratical in "his" audience, that Obama is a radical that is seeking the Death of Isreal. The more this type of rhetoric is thrown out there, the closer I get to Obama's ideals, and that is not one of them. As I said before, Joe ispoor poster child for McCain and Palin. Now, he needs help seeking his singing career in country music.
My cousin was president of the student body of USC at Davis in the 60's. He was considered a radical as he protested the Vietnam War. He organized the Experimental College on that Campus also, which still survives today. He went on to become Supervisor of that County and is now City attorney for Crescent City. Point being is that he was on a journey in his life that took him down a road of protests, radicalism according to some definitions, associations with Bob Dylan, another considered radical at that time, protested at the Chicage Democratic Convention and was beat up by Daly's Gestapo, yet he turned out to be a respected public servant. Those associations impacted him, enlightened him, engaged him, but didn't change his core values as an American Citizen who sought to change his Country for the better......just like Obama is attempting to do, in spite of some of his past associations. This is a part of a discovery process that young intellectuals go thru on their journey to the "greater understanding" of how to sustain ourselves on this Planet. They are peace activists.....men who love their country; their families; the people they serve....all in the name of peace and understanding, which they seek to instill in all of us humans on this planet.
