Thanks for the good overview of all the polls.

It's sounds like it's going to be a close race come Nov.4th.

AP poll puts McCain within 1 point of Obama

Phoenix Business Journal - by Mike Sunnucks

A number of polls give Barack Obama the edge over John McCain, but a new survey by the Associated Press and GfK Custom Research shows the Arizona senator closing in with only a 1-point difference.

That poll gives Obama 44 percent of the ballots and McCain 43 percent among 800 likely voters. Voters lean toward Obama on economic issues (48 percent to 42 percent) but trust McCain more when it comes to national security (52 percent to 41 percent), according to the poll. Forty-eight percent of those surveyed also said they expect their taxes to go up if Obama wins.

A Rasmussen Reports poll, however, has Obama leading 51 percent to 45 percent. Gallup pegs the race at 50 percent for Obama and 45 percent for McCain. A Reuters/CSPAN/Zogby International poll has McCain down 52 percent to 42 percent.

An average of recent polls by Real Clear Politics calls the election at 50 percent for Obama versus 43 percent for McCain.
