Thanks Jeff! I just emailed them. BTW, do you know what the prize was? I honestly didn't think I won anything because I simply threw a Target hot dog costume on him! lol And that dog is SUCH a pain in the butt. Not because of his breed, but because of HIM. Such a butthead.

He did? That's news to me! Seriously? I entered him, showed him, then went back to the trick or trunk line where my poor 8yo was left alone. By the time I went back to check to see what the results were, the Petco people were gone.

please check with Petco - i'll also send you a private message with email address of a Parks/Rec person to check with also.  CONGRATS

Great topic jranae...

If a person is looking to buy flowers for an occassion, don't go into another city to do it.....go to a local shop and support your local business.  Here's one in Q.C.

If you want to eat good local Mexican Food, Try Rudys.

The carne asada burrito at Rudy’s Restaurant in Queen Creek is one of the best in the East Valley. Served with rice, beans and an ice cream for $8, it's also one of the better values in town.

If you'd rather have Good Farm Food, then try Schnepfs in Queen Creek.

How about that Great Olive Oil at the Olive Mill?

Queen Creek Olive Mill is not an overwhelming structure, nor is it a well-known stop in anyone's Arizona tour itinerary (yet). The Queen Creek Olive Mill is a family owned company that grows and presses olives for the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil.  Great sandwiches.

As a Queen Creek resident and believer in local businesses and saving Queen Creek from the concrete Wal-trash that has been hoisted in our faces as the character and vision of QC being thrown under the bus, I had the pleasure the other day to stop into the Pussycat Boutique (located across the parking lot from Serranos).

I've got to tell you, businesses like these need to be supported and held dear to our town. Especially now in this economic mess. PCB's owner has no employees and works so hard for her customers and has such a good selection of non-chain store clothes with pizazz, and for a "boutique", prices aren't a typical "boutique" like we would find in Scottsdale or Paradise Valley.

Give it a shot! If it wasn't for my long torso and child-bearing hips, the most adorable jeans there on her clearance rack would have been mine. But I'm returning when she gets more jeans in and hoping that another brand of jeans that are just as unique and adorable will be nicer to my bod.  :)

This economy is awful, so let's step up and keep local businesses like this stay afloat! If this shop can survive this tough time, it can make it through anything and it'll show that Queen Creek has a chance to fix the mistakes that our town has made with the poorly zoned and planned chain stores and make downtown the "walking district" with charm that they originally promised and later threw under the bus.

It's already a slap in our face that the concrete jungle of Target and Wal-Mart asphalt slabs of "the same every few miles" have insulted our community, but to add insult to injury, recently opened Shoe Pavilion and Circuit City are already going out. Yes, I know this is all the locations and not just Queen Creek, but this development was irresponsibly put in when it was KNOWN that these businesses were in trouble. And when you put stores in too close to one another (Wal-mart every three miles along the 202 and San Tan Heights and Target close by at Power and 202) and put carbon copies across the street from one another (Office Max, Staples, Petco, Petsmart, etc), it's no wonder that they're not fiscally doing that well and townsfolk have a lesser vision for this town.

And now we have those two empty stores in our "new" strip malls. How many are to follow? Empty out-of-business places are not what Queen Creek's vision was about when it mentioned "open spaces".
