We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone that came down and supported our first event.  This event was a huge success due to all the help and support we received from our community.  Check out this link to today’s east valley tribune they posted a slide show with some great pictures.  We look forward to doing this on the 3rd Friday of every month.  Once again thank you, me and my family had a blast.  Happy Fathers Day.

turn out was FANTASTIC for an inaugural event... at least 35-40 custom cars (including Deputy Lucas' sweet AMC ride), 12 motorcycles, gsbill spinning the tunes, QC Fire Dept came and the kids got to go in the fire truck and interact with Capt Ford and his crew.  good people, good food, good fun.

Shawn wants to do this once a month and i couldn't be happier to have something fun and family oriented in this Town on a friday night.

Welcome Rhino! Serenity Massage & Tan is in LOVE with your Ice Tea's and we have been sending all of our 'relaxed' customers your way after their massages to go get hydrated :)

Great job on the menu - had lunch there the other day and it was phenominal.

Not to mention, we live in the Villages and I am so grateful to have a coffee shop on the corner, this was the best news ever!

Once again, welcome to Queen Creek - we wish you the best of luck!

Grand opening signage is allowed for up to 60 days under our current Zoning Ordinance.  Items such as banners, balloons, flags, sign boards, etc are allowed, but a permit is required.

Staff spoke with the sign company for the Rhino Café two days ago.  They will have a formal submittal coming in the next day or so for their permanent signage.

The delay is with their sign company, so staff has given them the benefit of the doubt to help them open for business.  They temporary signs (Banners) can be up pending receipt of the formal and grand opening sign package.

That said, the signage removed today is what is referred to as “bandit” style signs that would not currently be allowed under the provisions of our code.

the above is paraphrased from staff

my personal response... i didn't see what signs were removed, so I don't know what a "bandit" style sign is.  i'll try to run over there tomorrow to see what Shawn had out. (i assume his signs were given back to him and not confiscated)

i too want businesses to succeed.  of course there is a line between going overboard with a standard that would be too lax.  at the same time, i personally don't want a standard so restrictive as to be unreasonable or worse. but signage in general is something that is being looked at and tweaked with the rewrite/update of our zoning ordinance.

Just left there..Had a wrap made with a spinach tortilla stuffed full with chicken and veggies and a berry smoothie. Really good stuff at a great price.

Note...while in there the towns neighborhood preservation guy(super nice guy BTW) popped in after he took down some signage communicating to the public that the joint just opened.

QCV...doesnt a new biz have 60 days upon opening to have signs out that are otherwise prohibited? Like the new QT did? We all want this place to succeed. Today Queen Creek paid an employee(just following orders) to undermine Shawn's efforts to let the folks know he's there. Less than a week in business and he's already wasted time and money.

Went there tonight for Ice Cream with the family.  Was preparing myself for $3-4 a cone for the 5 of us.  Suprised to see $1.65 per scoop.   Looked over the prices and averaged $5-8 for a sandwich.  This is what you pay for cardboard at Subway, but looks like you get sandwiches with more character, caprese, real Italian, etc.  Seem like really nice people.

We need to get our support around these non chain independents that have a quality product.  Good Luck to you, we will be back!

How about the smoothie quality?  Bahama Bucks has good shaved ice, but their smoothies all have radioactive colors and don't taste like fruit at all.  I prefer the natural fruit / juice look to my smoothies.

Got some sandwiches there recently.

PROS:
  • very friendly
  • unique sandwiches
  • sandwiches taste good
  • THEY HAVE ICE CREAM!
CONS:
  • expensive
  • sandwiches very bready
  • no wraps or common sandwiches
  • no breakfast burrito!
If word gets out, they might survive. In my opinion, they're competing with Paradise Bakery. Draw your own conclusions as to the result of that.

Hi everyone i just opened our little shop the "Rhino Caffe" this week.  We have started with a soft opening this week and will have a ribbon cutting ceremony this Thursday the 30th at 11am.  I want to thank all the locals that have welcomed us with open arms.  This is an amazing community and in just a few days me and my Family have met allot of great neighbors and met some new friends.  Although I only joined the Chamber about a week ago the positive response and support have been overwhelming.  We are a little Family run local cafe serving ice cream, smoothies coffee, pastry's, sandwiches and salads.  We are open every day from 6am till 8pm.  Thanks for all the support.

Rhino Caffe joined the Queen Creek Chamber 2 weeks prior to opening this past Wednesday.  We're excited to have them on board; and as Councilmember Brown notes, the Chamber will be hosting the ribbon cutting next Thursday at 11:15.

Again, I would encourage all readers of this post to review the Chamber's Directory regularly when seeking products and services.

The Chamber is proud to support all of our business members; and we recommend and promote them highly and equally.

Shop Local.

Respectfully,

RS
