Family-owned Prestige Cleaners is celebrating 45 years in business this month by giving back to the families of its community with a water safety and activities event held in conjunction with a local YMCA.

Splash Day takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA, 6869 E. Shea Blvd. Food and beverages will be provided.

The event consists of:
• A mini-swim meet featuring fun relays open to kids and parents;

• CPR demonstrations and life-guard skills;

• New water aerobics, including tai chi and Zumba;

• Swim-stroke improvement;

• WHALE Tales, an American Red Cross aquatics safety program.

“The core of the YMCA is to serve as a community partner, providing vital life-building blocks,” said Mike Cassidy, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA’s district executive director. “And we applaud Prestige Cleaners for its partnership in making the Splash Day event possible."

Prestige Cleaners is also donating funds for sponsoring up to 20 Valley families in need of swimming lessons this summer.

“We’re proud and fortunate to be a family-run business for 45 years in Scottsdale, and giving back to the community has always been an important component of our daily operations,” said Donn Frye, CEO of Prestige Cleaners.

“Prestige Cleaners is excited about sponsoring Splash Day and helping to educate the community on water safety, while enjoying a fun day at the YMCA.”

Prestige Cleaners provides additional community service through its involvement in the Hope for the Holidays clothing drive for Big Brothers-Big Sisters, as well as its free American flag and Santa Claus suit cleaning program, which has taken place annually since its first store opened in 1964.
