Sun City Fan,

It is little old biddy's, such as yourself, that I definitely won't  miss when I move.  It is you who should be watching out for the door, since you are so used to wearing your blinders!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comment and the comparison scroggy, you brought a smile to my face and a chuckle to my lips. Kidnapped indeed.

I just have to tell you i find Sun City to be a remarkable bargain. There is nowhere i know of there aren't increases, and when you throw in the amenities, it is incomparable.

As far as the RCSC, i thought when i moved here i would like to be a director. The more i watched the abuse they took, the more i saw it for the thankless position it is. Of course SCHOA is no walk in the park these days.

Therein lies the biggest threat to Sun City's future; will we be able to find volunteers to fill the clubs, organizations and boards that have kept Sun City functioning all these years? With each passing day, i see it becoming more problematic.

No matter how you feel scroggy or what you say, i doubt you will find a better place to live than Sun City. Virtually any community you move to will have much higher  property taxes that will make it more expensive than what you have and pay in Sun City. Be that as it may, i was serious, best of luck to you.

Hey Bill,

How did I know you would comment on my ad?  haha

Have you ever seen "The Manchurian Candidate" with Frank Sinatra?  I think this may have been the sort of thing that might have happened to you Bill.  I figure the RCSC Board kidnapped you when you were playing putt putt golf and brain washed you, so that when you hear something derogatory mentioned about them, you automatically come to their defense.  What do you think?

In answer to your questions:  Why not just go for the gusto and raise the rates comparable to those of  [size=Sun City Great Island][size=, Plymouth,MA--$3,300 per lot annually.  Of course, instead of having the Atlantic Ocean at our backdoor, we instead have Youngtown.  Instead of being 20 min from Cape Cod, we are 10 min from El Mirage.  Oh well, can't have everything I guess.]

[size=As to where I am going?  If I am lucky enough to sell out of Sun City, I might just move across the street to one of the newer 55+communities that have less amenities and way less fees.  After-all, with the way everything in Sun City is being opened to the public, I will still be able to use the facilities-just not have to pay the fees.]

Hate to hear you are going to be leaving us scroggy, where are you going?

I do have to ask: Which Sun City should we raise our rates to be comparable to?

Here's the list from my old friend Paul Herrmann from the Sun City Vistors Center website: http://www.suncityaz.org/retirement%20value.htm

The interesting aspect is there is a comparison of amenities available; nothing is comparable in volume or in cost.

The sad fact is, everything will continue to go up. Hopefully we will continue to do a good job of keeping costs in line and keeping amenities open and available.

Take care, and best wishes wherever you are off to.

Included in a 13-motion agenda is a proposal to add  four fees:

A $25 refund processing fee (now you will have to pay to get your money back)

A $10 late fee (there is already a $10 late fee or is this a late fee of the late fee?)

A $60 lien filing fee (now you will have to pay RCSC to file a lien on your house)

A $60 lien release fee (you will also have to pay RCSC to release the lien you paid them file for on your house)

As usual, I find these actions unbelievable, especially when taken by a non-profit organization.

Why not just........

  1. Increase all the fees, equal to what the other Sun Cities are, and get it over with.  I am really getting tired of this $10 hike each year!

  2. Open all of the facilities to the general public and have the members pay for everything!

By the way, for those of you who are tired of hearing people complain-Why not just move?  My house is for sale!  Make you a great deal!  I just want to get out of this madness!!!!!
