There once was a man in Sun City
he lived in a house that was pretty.
Block fence all around.
In back, a small piece of ground.
He pondered a fitting memorial to honor
our dedicated military.
He thought of those who gave their lives
and precious brave ones still risking
life and limb in a place so scary.
He worked to make a thoughtful, tasteful scene
for all to see and perhaps say a prayer
for a life safe and secure.
He meant no offense, merely an honor,
of the sacrifice made in our defense.
Alas, there are some who took it as a
personal affront.
A memorial to our fallen
they did not want.
