Can we afford maintenance?
Idly walking public access places around Viewpoint Lake, I found crucial lake equipment, which has already failed or is near failing.
Rusted pumps and a missing fountain in the waterfall pond area will add to the already whopping cost of repairing lake water leakage. One of the RCSC maintenance staff I spoke with said the Recreation Centers of Sun City management and board of directors have decided not to repair the fountain and other systems since the repairs are expensive. I can’t accept this policy.
We cannot afford to maintain a beautiful community as is now structured. Additional revenue sources are necessary to fund these repairs. Adding others, too many to mention, may lead to additional repair expenses.
Many obvious repairs are most certainly necessary. But are you ready to accept another round of fee increases? Are you ready to accept decisions forced by the "Board of No?"
At the next RCSC directors/members exchange meeting let’s insist the board empower a task force to search for additional revenue sources. We then can submit BOD agenda motions to discuss and vote for task force submittals.
Take back your right to use our strength to commit the board of directors to be responsive to cardholder authority, their wants and needs. I challenge you all to participate in a task force for additional revenue streams. Let’s get to it.
