BRIDGEVILLE – A new traffic pattern is scheduled to be implemented this week at the U.S. 13/Del. 404 improvement project, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced last week.
Due to construction on Business 404 eastbound, traffic is being detoured onto Rifle Range Road and then onto U.S. 13 southbound.
Once the traffic pattern is changed, Business 404 traffic will be permitted to use the new Business Route 404 alignment, which has been built to bring traffic perpendicular to U.S. 13 at the signalized intersection, said DelDOT spokeswoman Tina Shockley.
In addition, the east service road off of Business 404 west has been built, and westbound traffic wishing to access the Royal Farms may begin using this road to access the back of the Royal Farms property.
Message boards will be posted in the area alerting motorists to the new traffic pattern in both areas. The traffic pattern change is weather dependent, as there is minor work that must be done prior to the traffic pattern actually occurring, Ms Shockley said.
